LESSON PLAN
ENGLISH 4

September 13, 2022 (Tuesday)


I. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
At the end of the given period, 85% of the students will be able to:
1. Identify relationship of words.
2. Distinguish the features of informational texts.

LEARNING EXPERIENCES
A. INTRODUCTION
Activating Prior Knowledge
 The teacher will ask the question:
 What is the importance of sharing information through writing?
 The students will be given 1 minute to reflect on the question and ask few
students to share their observations.
 The teacher will take note the students’ answers on the board.
Presentation of Lesson Objectives
 The teacher will present the topic and the lesson objectives to the class.
B. INTERACTION
Student to student/Student to Material (Cooperative Learning Teams)
1. The students will group themselves into four (4).
2. They will rearrange the scrambled letters to form a word and discuss the
meaning of the words being formed together with their group mates.
Student to Teacher
1. The teacher will discuss some vocabulary words before starting the main part
of discussion, or as discussion proceeds.
2. After introducing the vocabulary words, the teacher will show to the students
the examples of unfamiliar words (synonym, antonym, and analogy) and
discuss the features of informational texts through presentation slides.
C. INTEGRATION
Checking for Mastery of the Lesson
The teacher will instruct the learners to underline the word(s) that will help
them unlock the meaning of the difficult word.

1. Amelia, Sophia’s biggest foe, became her best friend.


2. Instead of smiling, Rocky grimaced after opening his present.
3. Maki and Mark pleaded and begged their daddy for another superhero
movie marathon.
4. The Clemente family lives in a very affluent village together with the
other rich and powerful families in the country.
5. Alice savored the sumptuous meal. She made sure to finish all of the
delicious dishes.
Correlating Prior and New Knowledge Learned
The teacher will let the class go back to their answers in the first activity (APK).
Let them compare their previous answers. Check some misconceptions and affirm
correct answers.

Correlation of the Topic to Broader Aspect


The teacher will let the students form groups with five members. Then, instruct
them to list ten boring words that they can think of. Let them provide as many
interesting words as they can which could replace the boring words. The students
will be asked to present the list using either tables or diagrams on a cartolina and
let them write a short report about it and present it in front of the class.

Integration to School Pillar/Values Integration


The teacher will let the class give the importance of becoming knowledgeable
about the various things around them and the traits or characteristics they should
have to absorb knowledge as expression of excellence.
 Informational texts help us become knowledgeable about the various
things around us. What traits and characteristics should we have to
absorb the knowledge around us?

IV. EVALUATION
The teacher will instruct the learners to identify which among the features of
informational texts can best help them in understanding the given statements.
1. You want to identify the parts of the large intestine.
2. You want to see a graphic representation of how you spend your daily
allowance.
3. You want to locate a particular topic in a book.
4. You want to locate where Qatar is.
5. You want to know the historical development of the Internet.
6. You want to know the meaning of a word used in a book.
7. You want to know the page where a topic can be found.
8. You want to see the seeds on a larger scale.
9. You want to see the summary of the students’ scores in math and science.
10. You want to learn how a word is pronounced.
