Music
Texture of Sounds
(Unit 4 – Lesson 1 pages 104-112)
• There are many ways of making a strand of thread become thicker. Music can
also become thicker by putting together different sounds.
• In music, there are songs that can be sung by different groups that start one
after the other. This type of song is called a round. In doing so, different
pitches are combined making the sound thicker.
• When we sing the same melody at the same time, the music become thin. This
is called unison singing.
• The thinness or thickness of sound is called texture.
• Another way of making the music thicker is adding an ostinato pattern to a
song.
• An ostinato is a short rhythmic or melodic pattern that is repeatedly sung or
played with a song.
• Sound can be thick or thin. Singing a song together in one tune makes this
sounds. Singing songs in rounds or with an ostinato makes the music thick.
• A song accompanied by different sound-producing objects makes the texture
of the music thick.
• The thinness or thickness of sound in music is called texture.

3. Plastic Modelling Clay
- comes in different colors but never hardens. Since it is always soft, it is
less permanent.

Standing in Good Posture
(Unit 4 – Lesson 1 pages 104-108)
• Each one moves differently. Some stand with their heads high, hunch their
shoulders, and slouch their backs.
• There are many ways of standing. It is important though that you practice
good posture at all time.
• Good posture is a way of carrying the body properly.
• When you are in good posture, all your body parts are well-aligned.
• Posture affects your health.
• When you are in good posture, your muscles are not overworked. You do not
get tired easily.
• When you are in good posture, your internal organs have enough working
space. Your lungs, heart, intestines, and other organs can work easily
because they are not crowded.
• Good posture can be maintained and improved through regular exercise.

Health
Can Take Care of My Sick Family Member
(Unit 3 – Lesson 3 pages 81-87)
• When you are sick, you would curl up in a ball and be quiet.
• Sometimes, you would moan and cry. You feel very uncomfortable.
• When a family member is not feeling well, you do not feel their pain
physically, But, somehow, you feel a different kind of sickness inside you.
• It is not easy seeing a loved one in pain. When one is sick, the rest helps out
because they are worried and concerned.
• Check if he or she is comfortable in his or her bed. You may bring him pr her
extra huggable pillow.
• Help in pouring his or her water or juice. He or she will drink it in small
frequent sips, not all at once.
• Help in preparing his or her food like soft bread and soup.
• Remind your family member when it is time to drink his or her medicine.
4|P age
• Avoid making loud noises that will disturb him or her when he or she is
sleeping or resting.
• When he or she needs you to be by his or her side, ask how you can make him
or her feel better. Sometime, when he or she feels lonely, he or she needs
to be amused. You can sing, chat, or read something to him or her.
If you see that your family member is not feeling well, tell your other family
members or other trusted adults immediately. When an illness becomes serious,
your sick family member is brought to the hospital. This makes the adults in the
family very stressed because they need to make medical decisions about the types
of care and treatments.
Some illness may change the way people look. They may lose or gain weight or
have less hair. They may feel very tired or be connected to tubes. Even though
they may look different, they are still the same person.
Since you cannot go to the hospital most of the time, you can also do the ff:
• Make a card.
• Write a letter or poem.
• Pick or choose flowers for a nice bouquet for his or her bedside table.
• Record your message.
• Send your photo then write at the back like a post card.
