Beige skirt with crochet motifs

Posted by Nicole on May 30, 2010

When I saw this beautiful and elegant skirt, I really wanted to try it. I took the hook 1,5
mm and thin yarn and try to copy motifs with zoomed original photo.

This skirt consists of three different motifs in size and shape: one small and one big
motifs of hexagonal shape, and triangular motif. The motifs are connected to each other
by a little motif whith long loops of chains.

In this zoomed picture you can see that the motifs are connected to each other by picots,
in addition there is a fourth additional motif. Below is a photo - something that I was able
to try.
Please clik image to zoom+ it.

I wrote the instructions to all motifs. You need to choose how you connect motifs to each
other. Hope written instructions helps those who have problems with reading diagrams.

The works begins with chain foundation of 8 chs, and join it to ring by sl.st.

5 round: 2 turning ch and d.sc in each stitch. Apportion 5 picots of 3 chs and dc.sc at the
top of each petal.

Motif - b:
Work first 3 round of Motif A.
4 round: work like Motif A, but between petals work 1 quadruple treble / triple treble in
dc/sc of third round.
5 round of petals: work like third, but petals work over the top of previous petals and
quadruple treble / triple treble.
6 and 7 rounds: work like fourth and fifth rounds of Motif A.

end 3 dc/sc in space of 2 chs and tr/dc, sl.st in first ch of this round.

Addition Motif – d:
The works begins with chain foundation of 8 chs, and join it to ring by sl.st.
1 round of petals: 2 turning chs, *8 dc/sc, 8 ch, turn and work dc/sc in first dc from hook,

t.tr/tr, 8 chs sl.st at the end.
3 round: work 8 dc/sc in each space of 8 chs, dc/sc and picot of 3 chs - in each tr/dc and
dc/sc - in space of 1ch (of previous round); sl.st in first stitch of this round.

Little motif whith long loops of chains.

When all the motifs of skirt will be crochet, spread them on a paper chart of the skirt and
fasten with pins.
For little motif work: chain foundation of 8 chs, and join it to ring by sl.st.
1 round of petals: 2 turning chs, 17 dc/sc, sl.st in secont turning ch.
Put the motif in the middle of the space between the large motives of the skirt. Make the
appropriate number of chains to the edge of the nearest motif, work dc/sc in this edge,
turn, make the same number of chains and dc/sc in the little motif. Connect in the same
manner other motif edges. On the big picture of skirt you can see that most of little motifs
has six connecting loops.

Good luck!
