The Shades of ValKanis Personality: For the most part a Shade of ValKanis retains his living personality.

Though there are usually some slight changes. Being a creature of the night a Shade usually struggles with dark tendency, but nothing that they can not handle. Their new need for blood has also driven some of the Shades insane, though most nd a way to live, the majority off of the blood of animals. Having the people that once loved them now horried of them has also had an effect of the Shades and after they where forced back into the KurehTain marshes by the people, being made to stay there as if on a reservation, some Shades indulged in their new desire and became what the people saw them as, monsters. Physical Description: The Shades of ValKanis look mush like they did when they where alive with only subtle changes. There skin has paled, as that of a dead body, and they are cold to the touch. Also their eyes now put off a subtle glow that matches their natural eye color. Unlike the vampires of old they did not grow fangs or claws which makes drinking blood rather messy. Relations: The shades of ValKanis where initially looked at like a miracle. Loved ones swarmed all around to see there once dead loved ones, not a healer or mage on Inera could explain what happened. Some people where skeptical, even afraid of the raised dead, but as their was no real evidence that they where not living the majority of people put these off as needless fears. it was not until the rst Shade was caught drinking blood that everything changed. Whispers of vampires spread through out the land and it was not long until the shades were being treated like the them. Their loved ones started to fear them, and so did the people. They could not go out any more with out being, insulted or attacked, it wasn't long until the Shades fought back. The rst time a Shade struck one of the living ended their acceptance into the lands of the living. As the towns people made large posse the King had no choice but to act. The king, being a generous soul, did not want to slay those who gave up their lives to defend the realm but he could not over look his

people so he developed a plan to push the Shades back into the KurehTain marches. He did what he could not to kill or injure any of the shades while putting forth his plan, there where some death of corse, he could not stop his men from ghting back. With the shades successfully pushed back, the kingdom prospered. At least it seemed that way to the common folk. Still distressed by his actions to punish those that fought for him the king contacted the new leader of the Shades of ValKanis, Kuron the Black, and offered to try to alleviate there suffering by sending the a steady supply of food. wether that be livestock or criminals. Kuron, not wanting his people to resort to the ways of the vampires, refused the offering of any humanoid race but took the offer for live stock with open arms. This transaction lasted until some of the Shades, who later be known as the black cult, started to kill and drink from the guards who transported the live stock. The king and Kuron did what they could to unravel the mystery behind this cult so that the support line could be reopened, however the king died before they could and since then the Shades of ValKanis have been left to fend for them selves. Alignment: The Shades of ValKanis have no set alignment, usually keeping the alignment they had in life. Though after being forced to live in the marshes by the people of inera and their loved ones alike, some of the Shades have slipped into the evil ways, especially the The Black Cult. Lands: After being forced out of their homelands he Shades of ValKanis now reside in the KurehTain marches. The light of the sun rarely reaches that dark land that was once the home of the vampires. After being pushed into extinction after the rst great war the vampires homeland was left unattended. Their tall towers and sprawling castles being left to crumble. The Shades of ValKanis now inhabit this ancient land and seek to rebuild it. Being forced to live in these dark lands the Shades decided to try and rebuild, at least giving them a real home and not some burnt towns and half destroyed castles. Though rebuilding is taking longer then their leader, Kuron the Black, expected, especially with the Black Cult reeking havoc on those Shades who just wish to make a new home for them selves. Now with over half of the vampires land being rebuilt, the lands seems to be livable and the people who stumble onto these lands, and are not killed by the cult, bring back tales of mysterious gothic towns, and their dark inhabitants. the towns and castles that lone the edge of the swamp are mostly still in pieces but as one travels deeper in they are met with the full splendor of this Kingdom to be. Religion: The Shades of ValKanis, for the most part, still worship each of there individual patron deities. Some have started to pay homage to Delamvie, believing it was he, the god of life, who brought them back. and then there is the Black Cult, who worship ValKanis, claiming it was he who brought them back to send him more souls. Language: The Shades of ValKanis have no langue of there own. Adventures: As they are shunned by the people of Inera most of the Shades stay in their marches adventures being rare. But their are tales of Shades impersonating the living to travel the lands.
