    Key Concepts/ Festival dances are cultural dances performed to the strong beats of percussion instruments by
    Understanding to be a community of people sharing the same culture usually done in honor of Patron Saint or as a
    developed: thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. It adds to the merry-making and festivities of a place where
    they are celebrated. The nature and background of the dance and the skills should be learned
    by the students.

     What is festival?
    4.2 Activity Activity: “ Festivals Where and When”
    ( 10min)  The teacher divides the learners into five groups and they will answer the table below.
     The teacher will let learners read the selection about festivals on pages LM. 178-187.
     Each group will assign to present their work in the class following the format below.
    Where? Festival Dance When?
    Example: Cebu Sinulog January

    (10mins)  As a whole, the teacher will make an input about the Philippine Festival using Power
    Point presentation.
    4.5 Application Activity: Give at least 3 positive effects of festival dancing or participation involvement in festival
    (20mins) dances to yourself, family and friends. Fill up the table below.
