THE MARKETING MIX: PLACE AND PROMOTION

EXERCISE 6: THE LOCATION OF YOUR BUSINESS

Place or channel of distribution. Will you sell directly to end-users? If so, how are you going to
bring your product/service to them? Are you going to use middlemen or distributors? If yes, how much
commission or discounts will you give?

Now, write about your place of business. Location is very important for traders and service
providers. They need to be located in a place that is convenient and accessible to their customers. For
manufacturers, locating in a place where rent is cheap and the supply of raw materials is reliable is more
important. The following questions are basic considerations in finding a location for your business:

Where are you going to locate your business? Why did you choose this particular site?

The municipality of Echague, popularly known as the “Queen Town of the South” is located at the
southern portion of Isabela. We choose Echague for the reason that, we observe that theres potential
customer and we have the opportunity to launched JARLIOUS PUGOLOT. 

We decided to locate our business in Junction Echague, near Isabela State University, beside the food
establishment. For the reason that the availability of JARLIOUS PUGOLOT is accessible to everyone. Most
importantly, Junction Echague is a landmark in Echague, and one of our purposes is to catch the
attention of potential customers. JARLIOUS PUGOLOT is newly introduced to everyone, and curiosity is
one of our strengths in catching customers.

We are going to rent an establishment because the product we offer has a process and procedure to
perfectly achieve its outcome. We need a comfortable kitchen to do the process of making Jarlous
Pugolot and a refrigerator to freshly preserve the Jarlous Pugolot. Then, we just display the JARLIOUS
PUGOLOT in front of the establishment.

Also, Echague is near Santiago City and Ramon for the source of our raw materials, and it is a great
opportunity for us to have access. Lastly, the competition is low because this is a new product
introduced to the customer for them to try and become our loyal customer.
Draw a location map of where you intend to put up your business. It will be good to show landmarks and
access routes. Use another sheet of paper to draw your location map.

EXERCISE 7: Promotion.

How will you attract customers to buy?

How will you promote your product/service?

Will you advertise in newspapers, radio or TV?

Will you use posters, flyers, signboards, etc.?

Will you have promotional gimmicks?

How much will you spend for these promotional efforts?

We decided to use digital marketing platforms like social media. It can help us reach a larger audience,
target prospects, attract customers, get customer feedback, and build customer loyalty among those
who are most likely to buy our product. Also, social media can help us engage with our customers,find
out what people are saying about our business, and most importantly, we choose Social media platform
because less cost and friendly platform for everyone.

For example, if you post a food vlog on TikTok or Facebook, the taste and flavor reveal themselves to
make them crave and have the curiosity to try, taste, and buy JARLIOUS PUGOLOT. Also, we offer
discounts when buying JARLIOUS PUGOLOT.

Example: You buy two and get one free.

2 flavored PUGOLOTS and a Mini JARLIOUS PUGOLOT for them to attract.
