I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. Identify mass and count nouns; and


b. Differentiate mass nouns with the count nouns

Count Nouns – are nouns that we


can count. There can be more than
one objects or things.
Examples:

apples

cats

toys

notebooks

fingers

On the other hand, Mass Nouns – are


nouns that cannot be counted. Generally,
they do not have plural forms. We do not
use numbers to count them.

Examples:

milk
milk

salt salt

rice rice

hair hair

raindrops raindrops

3. Application

Group Activity (The pupils are listening to the instructions.)

Group 1

Directions: Identify the 5 examples of


mass nouns from the box and put it in
the space provided.
Group 2

Directions: Select 5
pictures/examples of count nouns and
paste it in the blank space.

Group 3

Directions: Identify the given


examples if it is an example of a
mass noun or a count noun.

(Let each group present their work in


front of the class.) (The pupils are doing their assigned tasks.)
