DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH IV

l. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

a. Analyze the statements given through a power point presentation.


b. Identify the difference set of pictures presented.
c. Distinguish the difference between reality and fantasy by classifying
pictures written in flashcards.
d. Create the meaning of reality and fantasy through examples given.
e. Reflect their understanding about reality and fantasy through pictures
shown to them.
f. Perform task and follow directions through different activities.

A. Topic: Reality and Fantasy


Skills: identifying and classifying
Values: Generosity towards others

B. Reference: LM Book English lV pg. 341-34

C. Materials: power point, projector, pictures, visual aids, manila paper and
pentel pen

A. Preliminary Activities:

1. Opening Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Classroom management
4. Checking of attendance
5. Classroom rules and regulation
6. Collecting of assignments
B. Motivation
Teacher will ask the students to read and analyze the statements
shown on the power point.

1. The moon sleeps at night.


2. Everything we have comes from God.
3. My father is hard working.
4. We can fly like fairies.
5. I can stay in the water like a fish.

C. ENABLING ACTIVITIES

1. ACTIVITY
‘’Come, Identify me’’

Teacher will present different sets of pictures in class and will ask the
students to identify it.

2. ANALYSIS
Teacher will show words written in a flashcards and will let the
students read it then they will attach it in the manila paper on the board
that corresponds whether its reality or fantasy.

3. ABSTRACTION

Now, class after we have done some activities earlier do you have now
an idea on what is our topic for today ?

What is reality ?

 Reality is the sum or aggregate of all that is real or existent within a


system, as opposed to that which is only imaginary. The term is also used
to refer to the ontological status of things, indicating their existence.

 The world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an


idealistic or notional idea of them.

 The state or quality of having existence or substance.


What is fantasy ?

 When we say fantasy it is only a make believe or it only happens in


imaginary world.

 It is the power or process of creating especially unrealistic or


improbable mental images in response to psychological need an
object of fantasy.
 
 Also a mental image or a series of mental images such as a
daydream.

4. GENERALIZATION

 Show two sets of pictures in the class, students will be asked to


fill the space provided under the pictures.
 Let the students reflect their own understanding about reality
and fantasy through pictures shown to them.
 Teacher will ask questions.

Today, I have learned the differences between reality and fantasy.

5. Application
Each group will be given 5 minutes to complete their task. Afterwards they will
present their answers on the board and each group will select a presenter to
discuss their task.

Group 1 : “ROLE PLAY”


The group will choose between reality and fantasy. Whatever they have
chosen they will make a situation that represent it.

Group 2 : “LIST ME UP”


The group will list at least 10 example of situation. On the first (5) list down
reality and from (6) up list down fantasy.

6. ASSESSMENT

Direction: Write FANTASY if it is a make believe and then write REALITY if


it’s in real situation. Put it in the space provided before the number.

V. Assignment

Directions: Make a short story in a one whole sheet of paper. Choose


whether its reality or fantasy. Consisting of 5 sentences in each paragraph.
