Course Objective: The RF & Microwave Engineering introduces the students to
RF/microwave analysis methods and design techniques. Transmission
lines are analyzed at microwave frequency. Different types of
waveguides and different modes of power transmission are studied.
Scattering parameters are defined and used to characterize devices and
system behavior. Passive and active devices commonly utilized in
microwave subsystems are analyzed and studied. Design procedures
are presented along with methods to evaluate device performance.
Microwave computer-aided design (CAD) methods are introduced by
means of laboratory exercises.
