SECTION 7
INTERFACE MANAGEMENT PLAN
Contract No.:
BI No.:
will coordinate with COMPANY and other contractors for all interface activities, deliverables and schedules,
with all persons, agencies, firms and companies that may have any impact on the execution of the work by
CONTRACTOR.
GOSP-4 Development
Site Preparation
A detailed list of discipline-wise interfaces will be developed in coordination with detail engineering with
respect to the project interfaces.
CONTRACTOR Service will allow sufficient flexibility to accommodate changes in the known interfaces and
additional interfaces identified during the execution of WORK. CONTRACTOR will immediately inform
COMPANY if there are any changes in CONTRACTOR’s planned execution of the works that have an impact
on the work being or to be performed by others or if additional interfaces are identified by the CONTRACTOR.
Assigned interface manager will be responsible to maintain and update the list to ensure:
CONTRACTOR will communicate directly with other agencies, if any, to review technical issues and exchange
technical data related to interfaces and to reach mutual agreement on dates for interfaces. This may include
visits by the interface manager and/or other CONTRACTOR’s personnel to the offices of other
contractors/agencies. However, all formal communications will be directed in writing to COMPANY / other
Contractor. No communication from other contractors/agencies will be considered an instruction or directive
from COMPANY to the CONTRACTOR

CONTRACTOR will actively participate in Interface Meetings with other Contractors / COMPANY and sub-
contractors / agencies as determined by COMPANY during the construction phase.
Interfaces between CONTRACTOR and sub-contractors, and between two or more subcontractors
The CONTRACTOR will assign a site-based Project Management Team to manage and integrate site-wide
construction interface issues. Once construction begins, Interface Coordinators from COMPANY and
CONTRACTOR will meet on a weekly basis to coordinate construction, deliveries, and access for the 1-week,
2-week and 8-week periods ahead.
One of the major aspects of Interface Management is the process for the timely transfer of information from
one contractor to another as well as the project-wide distribution of information that impacts all contractors.
Examples of engineering documents affecting Interface Management include plot plans, process and piping
battery limit tables, interface piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and one-line diagrams, among
many others.
For this project, the CONTRACTOR will employ a variety of tools and applications to successfully manage
technical interface documents, which include: Common Register use by all Interfacing Parties and Microsoft
Excel for the recording of all requests in an internal Interface Master Index.
Interface Agreements;
CONTRACTOR is already operational on ground in Saudi Arabia and is fully aware about the local
approvals/certifications. For interface with local government/ private authorities, CONTRACTOR will deploy
competent Saudi Nationals to liaison with various government agencies for obtaining required approvals and
other interface related matters.

Interface with Sub-Contractors / Manufacturer / Special agencies
CONTRACTOR will be responsible for managing all the interfaces including QA/QC and HSE between special
agencies and other project sub-contractors.
CONTRACTOR will establish and implement a management system for the identification and control of all the
organizational and technical interfaces and coordinate those activities within its control which interface with
the COMPANY and all the manufacturers, construction contractors, special agencies and other project
contractors. The interface management system will cover all fabrication and construction issues.
CONTRACTOR will be responsible for managing the materials interface between construction sub-contractors
through the establishment and maintenance of an effective materials control system.
CONTRACTOR will take responsibility for materials management from the point of delivery by COMPANY to
Site by establishing a control of material flow.
During pre-commissioning phase, a dedicated team will be formed to focus the interface between
Construction & pre- commissioning.
CONTRACTOR will monitor the related interface activities and take any required corrective action to ensure
that the project objectives are achieved.
