INTERNATIONAL CALL

FOR 86 UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS FUNDED BY REGIONE PUGLIA

ADDRESSED TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS COMING FROM UKRAINIAN UNIVERSITIES OR


ARRIVING THROUGH UNIVERSITIES CORRIDORS

(ACADEMIC YEAR 2022-2023)

ART. 1 – OBJECTIVES
THE INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS is an initiative adopted within the
framework of the Apulian universities’ internationalisation policies, with the financial support of the
Regione Puglia, and aimed at promoting actions to welcome and host students of any nationality,
coming from Ukrainian universities and seeking international protection or arriving through
University corridors for refugees.
The initiative aims to guarantee the fundamental right to education during the emergency phase
related to the current international crisis and addressed to students who intend to carry out a period
of study in one of the following universities:
 Politecnico di Bari
 Università di Bari
 Università del Salento

or one of the other Apulian Higher Education Institutions, ITS (Higher Technical Education
Institute), AFAM (Institutions of Higher Artistic, Musical and Dance Education):
 Academy of Fine Arts, Bari
 Academy of Fine Arts, Lecce

 Conservatory of Music, Bari


 Conservatory of Music, Lecce

 Higher Technical Education Institute – Area for New Technologies for Made in Italy –
Mechanical Systems
 Higher Technical Education Institute – for Made in Italy Alimentary Systems –productive
sector
 Higher Technical Education Institute for Sustainable Mobility – Puglia Aerospace sector

The period of study in one of the degree programmes offered by Apulian Higher Education
Institutions is funded for 4 months. The students can choose to attend one or more single courses or
also choose to start a BA degree programme (First cycle – Laurea triennale) or MA degree programme
(Second cycle – Laurea magistrale), with the exception of the courses in the single cycle degree in
Medicine and Surgery.
● The Politecnico di Bari will offer 12 scholarships

ART. 2 – BENEFITS

Selected students will be entitled to the following benefits:


- Fee waiver for the academic year 2022/2023
- ECTS after the successful completion of each course
- A scholarship of € 4.000,001
- Free Italian language course at the University Language Centre
- Assistance from the staff of the Welcome Offices in dealing with administrative procedures and
with integration into university life

ART. 3 – ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The Call for Applications is only open to applicants who meet the following requirements:
- They must be students of any nationality, affected by the war in Ukraine or they must be
students arriving through university corridors
- They must be already enrolled in a Higher Education Institution

ART. 4 – DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE APPLICATION

The scholarship emolument will be paid in two instalments: € 2.000,00 will be paid upon the enrolment in one the
courses of the degree programmes. The second and final instalment will be paid only after the acquisition by the student
of a minimum of 3 ECTS

Applications must be submitted using the application form (Annex 1) and specifying in the subject
"UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS FUNDED BY REGIONE PUGLIA”.

Applications can not be submitted later than 30 April 2023 and they will be evaluated in the order in
which they arrive. The call will be closed once the 86 available positions are filled.

The application must include the following documents:


 CV
 Enrolment certificate at the home institution or any other proof of student status
 A scanned copy of a valid Passport or any other identity document
 A copy of the Refugee Identity Card
 Receipt of the Permit of Residence, within the International Protection Scheme (if it has
already been requested)
 Motivational letter

Each university may request, at any time, additional documentation if needed during the selection
process.

ART. 5 – NOTIFICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE BENEFITS

Upon receiving the formal notification that their application has been accepted, the selected

candidates will be asked to fill in a form, in which they must declare that they accept or decline the
scholarship.

ART. 6 – MEDICAL INSURANCE

Each university and each Higher Education Institutions will provide insurance coverage against
accidents and civil liability. Beneficiaries must take out a health insurance policy to cover any
expenses that may be incurred by illness or accident.

ART. 8 – PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

In carrying out all the activities and procedures that may involve the processing of personal data,
the University of Salento undertakes to act in accordance with the current legislation on the
protection of personal data, particularly in compliance with the 2016 EU Regulation. / 679 so-
called "GDPR" implemented through Legislative Decree no. 101/2018 of 10 August 2018.
In accordance with D.L. 196/2003 (Personal Data Protection Code), the processing
of personal data of candidates, carried out only for institutional purposes, will be based on
principles of fairness, legality and transparency in order to protect Confidentiality.
