What advice/s can you give to fellow ChE students who are about to give up from this program?
1. DI NI SIYA ADVICE MURA NI SIYAG HINANAKIT HAHAHAHA FEEL LANG NAKO LET IT BE
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
To be really honest, when I first read the question above, all I did was laugh. Some of my
classmates really know my story. So whoever is reading this and actually relates to the question,
I know how you feel(or at least I can relate). I was one of those people that got interested in ChE
because I liked chemistry a lot in SHS and it was somehow my ambition since I was a kid because
of external factors. But to be frank, it was very far from what I expected to be. I had my fair
share of struggles and successes and shifting was a thought since the first semester of my first
year. If I will be really blunt, the things that made me not give up on this course is the people
around me. Another reason would be practicality. But it became a cycle to question this choice
and think of what ifs in my life but I actually made it. Asking you not to give up is not something I
would tell you because I have been there and I know it’s a hard decision, but think of what you
want to become and where could you find this happiness (frfr). But also, remember why you are
here and look back tinthe reason why you have enrolled in this program in the first place. Giving
up is not a weak choice but fighting to finish this program unil the end along with my classmates
and frienda was something that I would forever cherish. Malayo ka pa pero malayo ka na.
2. Advice? Connect with your friends and classmates as much as possible. The journey to finishing
the program is really never easy. Of course I experienced those 0-scored quizzes or long tests
and below 50% major exams. But what made it bearable for me is the people I am around with. I
experienced both my successes and failures with them, either laughed or cried on the scores
and grades we got. In the program, you will really experience the ups and downs a lot, especially
the downs. But being able to develop a coping mechanism by finding your group where you can
rant and breakdown and also work with, or to take your mind away from the academic stress for
a while by doing something you actually enjoy, things like these would really help. To actually
experience both mode of classes, I would really suggest to connect with your classmates as they
share the same burden or at least the same experience as you are having. As the meme say,
apes strong together. Also, I am one of those students who have thought of shifting since the
first semester of my first year, but with all the grade calculations I had with my seatmates during
finals season, I am just happy and proud to have actually finished the program. Matingala lang
gyud ka nga niabot ra diay ka sa imong final hunat. Timani lang gyud ang rason ngano nisulod ka
aning kursoha ug kung di na enough, imagina nalang ang dungog nga nahuman ka ug chemical
engineering which is grabe nga pride sa imong self. Layo pa ka, pero layo naka. Ang importante
kang pud dayun kay dapat malipay ka. Kana gyud pinakaimportante :)
