b) Abdullah threatens to hurt Yosuf if he does not sell his house to Abdullah for only
5 lakh rupees. Yosuf sells the house to Abdullah. This is not a valid contract as it
is not meeting a condition of free consent to the parties. Identify that condition
and comment on it.
Answer:
It will not be a valid contract since Yosuf consent was obtained by coercion. Now the
effect of coercion is that it makes the contract voidable. This means the contract is
voidable at the option of the party whose consent was not free. So the aggravated party
will decide whether to perform the contract or to void the contract. So in the above
example, if Yosuf still wishes, the contract can go ahead.

damages while driving. she paid the associated insurance premium payment.
State whether the contract is a valid or a void contract.
Answer:
Muntaha is interested in the car and that she will lose nothing in the event of a future
unpredictable occurrence, such as an accident. As a result, it is not a wager. It is a valid
contract.
A wagering contract is one in which two people or parties who profess to hold opposing
or contradictory viewpoints or perspectives about a potential unknown or strange case
or event agree that there is no other consideration for any party to allow such a contract
based on the outcome of the event that one must win or lose.
