OBJECTIVE:
PARTICIPANTS’ QUALIFICATIONS:
The PICPA Regional Competitive Accounting Quiz shall be limited to the the top 3
winners for each level in their respective Chapters’ Accounting Quiz Bowl. So that’s a
total of 6 representatives from each Chapter.
SCOPE:
REQUIREMENTS:
Certification from the President of the Chapter stating the names of the contestant, the
name of the school where they are currently enrolled and that they are the official
representative of the chapter;

MECHANICS:
1. The contestant must present their school ID or certification of no ID issued
from the school upon registration. Failure to present such may subject the
participant to be prohibited from joining the competition.
3. Pieces of paper and pentel pens will be provided to the participants during the
contest.
4. The contest is composed of three (3) rounds, with 10 questions per round,
namely: Easy, Average, and Difficult.
5. Each correct answer under the Easy round questions is equivalent to 5 points,.
The Average round, it is 10 points, and for the Difficult round, each correct
answer is worth 15 points.
6. Each contestant will be given a copy of questions for the round at the same
time. The question will be flashed on the widescreen for the audience.
7. The time allotted for each question is as follows: Easy round, 15 seconds;
Average round, 30 seconds; and Difficult round, 60 seconds (1 minute).
8. After each round, the answers will be checked and tabulated at once and the
result will be announced before the start of the next round. The questions
given to the contestants will be read aloud with the corresponding correct
answer for the benefit of the contestants and the audience alike.
10. Cheating of any form or kind will not be tolerated. Anyone caught cheating
will automatically be disqualified. Furthermore, the person will never be
allowed to participate in all future PICPA-related academic competitions.
11. Participants are strictly not allowed to take photos, or recordings of the
questions while the competition is ongoing otherwise s/he will be disqualified
from the competition
12. The three (3) contestants with the highest accumulated scores per level shall
be declared winners.
13. In case of a tie, a tie-breaker question(s) will be given. The question shall be
taken from the Difficult round questions with an allotted time of 1 minute

and 45 seconds per question. Knock-out system shall be adopted. The first
one who gives the correct answer is declared the winner.
14. Each contestant will be given a Certificate of Participation. The winner will
receive a certificate, a medal, and a cash prize.
DRESS CODE:
All participants must follow the proper dress code (school uniform, semi-formal, smart
casual, or casual attire) for the entire event. Listed below is the outline of the proper
