Purpose

The purpose of this study is to find out the factors affecting academic achievement of

Grade 11 students of Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM). ABM is one of the

academic strands in Lemery Senior High School. Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business

and Management-1 (FABM-1) is an introductory course in accounting, business, and

management that will develop students’ appreciation of accounting as a language of business

and an understanding of accounting concepts and principles. The learners did not even

aware that the subject is very important if they intend to take the course whether it is board or

non-board program in their higher education especially so that in College, they will no longer

take up Introductory Accounting. Per CHED program, colleges and universities may not offer

Introductory Accounting. The learners will take Intermediate Accounting in College.
