I. LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1. Illustrates the meaning of a slope of a line.
2. Find the slope of a line given two points.
II. SUBJECT MATTER:
A. Topic: Slope of a Line
B. Concept: Slope – refers to the steepness of a line.
C. Skills: Identifying
D. Materials: Tarp Papel, Manila Paper
E. Reference: Mathematics Learner’s Module 8

III. TEACHING STRATEGIES

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENTS’ ACTIVITY

A. DAILY ROUTINES
1. Opening Prayer
2. Checking of Attendance

B. REVIEW
Good morning class! Before we proceed to our new lesson
-Good morning ma’am!
let us first have a review on our previous lesson.
Rewrite the equation 5 x−7 y=2 in the form y=mx+b
-Two lines that are coplanar and will never
and determine the slope ‘m’ and y-intercept ‘b’.
intersect
Solution: 5 x−7 y=2
5 x−7 y + (−5 x )=(−5 x )+ 2
-They have equal measures.
−7 y=¿ −5 x+ 2
1 1 - 90°
( 7 y ) = (−5 x +2)
−7 −7 -Two angles with a sum of 180°.
5 2
y= x−
7 7

Expected Answers:

Square, rectangle, angles, rhombus,

trapezoid, opposite, congruent

MOTIVATION
This morning we will tackle the different kinds of
quadrilaterals, but before that let us take a look at some
scrambled letters and try to rearrange them to form words.

C. PRESENTATION OF THE TOPIC

Our lesson for today will focus on quadrilaterals that are
parallelograms.
Quadrilaterals - polygons consisting of four line
segments or sides.
Parallelograms - quadrilaterals with two pairs of opposite
Sides that are parallel and congruent.
There are different kinds of parallelograms namely:
square, rhombus and rectangle.
Square - a parallelogram with four congruent sides and
four congruent angles which measures 90°.
Rhombus - a parallelogram with four congruent sides.
Rectangle - a parallelogram with four congruent angles
which measures 90°.
