1. JOB FUNCTION BRIEF PROFILE
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

SHEC Manager will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient safety, health
environment and compliance management. It includes managing and leading the SHEC
Department to fully implement its programs for the entire operations of the business unit;
SHEC Manager will also be responsible to provide overall accountability and responsibility
of the compliance to safety, quality and legality of the workforce and workplace. It also
includes auditing of process and systems to ensure compliance to industry standards and
governmental requirements locally and globally.
WORK ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. Created and implemented the food safety programs; HACCP, SSOP and GMP of
the company (RRSSI, PKPI, RRFC-Ice plant, RRFC-International & Local Fishing
Vessels).
2. Passed the HACCP/EU Certification/BFAR listing for manufacturing and fishing
operation, certification for the following frozen products: YF Tuna, Bullet tuna,
Roundscad, Skipjack , Milkfish, Frozen Cooked Tuna Loins and Prime
Katsoubushi, opening a new door for new market and additional income for the
company.
3. Passed EU accreditation for RRSSI frozen products and RRFC international fishing
vessel, BFAR listing of fishing vessels.
4. Passed Cold Storage DA Mandatory Accreditation
5. Passed Halal Certification for both RRSSI and PKPI
6. Passed Dolphin safe Certification for RRSSIConduct training for manufacturing &
Fishing on: HACCP, SSOP, GMP, 5S, BOSH, ISSF Skippers Workshop for RRFC
7. Conduct research and in-house training for the company awareness on Global
Food Safety initiative and the different food safety certification scheme especially
on the FSMS Food Safety Management System.
8. Initiative to find ways to lower down cost on laboratory sampling and Plant Global
Food Safety Certification including that of QMS Quality Management System for
the different RR company.
Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health. Ensure that all
Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and
are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to
health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work
equipment and operations.
Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended
improvements implemented. Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire
drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk
assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are
aware of their responsibilities.
Co-ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and
procedures. Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are
maintained. Establish a full programme of documented health & safety
inspections, audits and checks.
Establish a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the
Company. Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of
training programmes and health and safety services.
Manage and devise the agenda for, chair and formulate & distribute minutes for
the Health & Safety Committee meetings.
Ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work
legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
Provide regular reports to the Human Resources Manager, Board of
Directors/Senior Management Team on relevant health and safety activities.
Participate in monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health &
safety matters.
Liaise with suppliers i.e. Insurers, solicitors etc Any other reasonable duties
which may be required by management from time to time.
Direct quality assurance program and ensures quality problems are identified
and resolved.
Oversees all activities related to quality inspection of raw materials and
printed materials.
Evaluate systems, analyzes data and verifies finished product evaluation.
Establishes quality control procedures.
Oversees inspections and audits
WORK ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. Created and implemented the food safety prerequisites; HACCP, SSOP and GMP of
the company, created and implemented the necessary monitoring forms.
2. Passed the SGS HACCP inspection, opening a new door for new market and
additional income for the company.
3. Maintains an AA rating on BFAR plant inspection. Rated A for Plant Structure and
Equipment Requirements, A for Operating Requirements and HACCP Implementation.
Passed BFAD and USDC plant inspection.
4. Trained In-house plant Auditors, Processing Quality Controllers, Sanitation Inspectors
and Laboratory Analyst, Data encoders and Shipment Documentation In-charge
5. Created coding system for product traceability
6. Created cold storage product mapping and implements FIFO for the finished products
7. Reduced cost and corrected chlorine usage for daily plant sanitation
QA MANAGER
Closely monitors and assess the operational status of the wastewater treatment
facilities (WTF) and the solid waste disposal.
WORK ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. Reduced sampling cost of the day-old and aging samples
2. Developed and implemented new sampling procedures.
3. Initiated Statistical studies on finished goods.
4. Trained Sensory Graders, Finished Goods Sampler and Laboratory Aides
