2. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

SHEC Manager will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient safety, health
environment and compliance management. It includes managing and leading the SHEC
Department to fully implement its programs for the entire operations of the business unit;
SHEC Manager will also be responsible to provide overall accountability and responsibility
of the compliance to safety, quality and legality of the workforce and workplace. It also
includes auditing of process and systems to ensure compliance to industry standards and
governmental requirements locally and globally.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Quality Management Representative/Food Safety Team Leader Functions:

 Food Safety Quality Management Representative


 Facilitates the Establishment of programs, policies and procedures for the
implementation of the Food Safety Management System in every food business
unit that is in compliance to the statutory and international regulatory
requirements.
 Facilitate the establishment of QMS-Quality Management System
 Help facilitate IIP Compliance of the BU
 Conduct Internal Audit and suppliers Audit to verify food safety and QMS
complianc
 Organize team, Conduct awareness training, documentation, implementation
and monitoring for the establishment of Food Safety Plan Builder and Food
Defense Plan Builder.
 Facilitate for the preparation, dissemination, implementation, verification and
revision of the HACCP, SSOP and CGMP
 Reviews reports and related documents submitted by QA Laboratory Analyst
(Inspectors) and QC specialist and by concerned personnel.

 Facilitate Occupational Safety Training, Meeting and Feed back monitoring
 Managing and overseeing the following departments and teams such as;
Quality Assurance and Food Safety Dept., Internal Quality Audit Team, Food
Defense Team, Recall and Crisis Management Team.
 Coordinating other business units in the entire organization for the continuous
implementation of Food Safety and Quality Management System.
 Regularly monitors departmental set objectives and key performance indicators
and present to the top management for continual improvement.
 Responsible to facilitate the senior management review based on frequencies
defined in the established company’s Food Safety and Quality Management
System policies and monitoring of the review output through effective
documentation.
 Assist in the overall implementation of standardized food safety policies and
procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
 Interact and work with support departments of the organization and review
respective process procedures and or system in compliance with BRC GFS
requirement, audits and other food safety initiatives.
 As a Food Safety Team Leader, ensures that people in their area understand
their role in the implementation of the Food Safety and Quality Policy, Quality
Objectives and effective implementation of the FSQMS.
 Manages the food safety team and ensures that the food safety programs, e.g.
HACCP, sanitation procedures and PRPs are closely followed and properly
maintained, implemented and regularly reviewed for continual improvement.
 Functions as IQA Chairman and assures proper direction and understanding of
the context of the Internal Quality Auditing. Ensures effective implementation
of Internal Quality Audit at planned intervals. Coordinates with the IQA team
and ensures that all requirements of the FSQMS (BRC, ISO, HACCP and other
food safety criteria) are covered in the IQA program.
 Responsible in the review of corrective actions in any process deviations in the
area of responsibility and in putting-up preventive measures by identifying
possible process non-conformities.
 Responsible to carry-out company’s food safety accreditations whether internal
or third party requirement.
 Coordinates all process owners during the preparation of the company’s FSQMS
in-coming audits.

2. Corporate Safety Officer Functions:

 Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health. Ensure that all
Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and
are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
 Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to
health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work
equipment and operations.
 Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended
improvements implemented. Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire
drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk
assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are
aware of their responsibilities.
 Co-ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and
procedures. Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are
maintained. Establish a full programme of documented health & safety
inspections, audits and checks.
 Establish a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the
Company. Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of
training programmes and health and safety services.
 Manage and devise the agenda for, chair and formulate & distribute minutes for
the Health & Safety Committee meetings.
 Ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
 Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work
legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
 Provide regular reports to the Human Resources Manager, Board of
Directors/Senior Management Team on relevant health and safety activities.
