Cleansing oneself

O Allah, separate me from my sins

as You have separated the East from the West.
O Allah, cleanse me of my transgressions
as the white garment is cleansed of stains.
O Allah, wash away my sins
with ice and water and frost.

Allaahumma baa’id baynee wa bayna

khataayaaya kamaa baa’adta
baynal-mashriqi walmaghribi,
Allaahumma naqqinee min khataayaaya kamaa
yunaqqath-thawbul-‘abyadhu minad-danasi,
Allaahum-maghsilnee min khataayaaya,
bith-thalji walmaa’i walbarad.

waj'alil ḥayaata ziyaadatallee fee kulli khayr,
waj'alil mauta raaḥatallee min kulli sharr.

being overwhelmed from under me.

fee deenee wa dunyaaya, wa ahlee wa maalee.
Allahummastur 'awraatee, wa aamirraw'aatee.
Allahummaḥfaẓnee mimbayni yadayya wa min khalfee,
wa 'anyyameenee wa 'annshimaalee wa minnfawqee.
Wa a'oodhu bi'aẓamatika min an ughtaala minn taḥtee.

Allahumma innee asaluka minal khayri kullih, 'aajilihi wa aajilih,

maa 'alimtu minhu wamaa lam a'lam.
Wa a'oodhubika minashsharri kullihi 'aajilihi wa aajilih,
maa 'alimtu minhu wamaa lam a'lam.
Wa asalukal jannata wamaa qarraba ilayhaa minn qawlin aw 'amal,
wa a'oodhubika minannari wamaa qarraba ilayhaa minn qawlin aw 'amal.
Wa asaluka mimmaa sa-alaka bihi Muḥammad ‫ﷺ‬,
wa a'oodhubika mimmaa ta'awwadha minhu Muḥammad ‫ﷺ‬.
Wamaaqaḍayta lee minn qaḍaain faj'al 'aaqibatahu rushdaa.

Endurance and victory against disbelievers

Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error.

Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden as You did lay
on those before us (Jews and Christians).
Our Lord! Put not on us a burden
greater than we have strength to bear.
Pardon us and grant us forgiveness.
Have mercy on us. You are our Protector.
And give us victory against the disbelievers.

Al-Baqarah: 286

‫َر َّبَنا لَا ُتَؤ اِخ ْذ َنا ِإن َّنِس يَنا َأْو َأْخ َط ْأَنا‬
‫َر َّبَنا َو لَا َتْح ِم ْل َع َل ْي َنا ِإْص ًر ا َك َم ا‬
‫َح َم ْل َتُه َع َل ى اَّلِذ يَن ِم ن َقْب ِلَنا‬

Rabbanaa laa tuaakhidhnaa innaseenaa aw akhṭaʾnaa.

Rabbanaa walaa taḥmil 'alaynaa iṣran kamaa
ḥamaltahu 'alalladheena min qablinaa.
Rabbanaa walaa tuḥammilnaa maa laa ṭaaqata lanaa bih.
Wa'fu 'annaa waghfir lanaa. Warḥamnaa. Anta maulaanaa.
Fanṣurnaa 'alal qawmil kaafireen.

The adornment of Eemaan

O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation,
keep me alive so long as You know that living is good for me
and cause me to die when You know that death is better for me.
O Allah, cause me to fear You in secret and in public.
I ask You to make me true in speech in times of pleasure and of anger.
I ask You to make me moderate in times of wealth and poverty.
And I ask You for everlasting delight and joy that will never cease.
I ask You to make me pleased with that which You have decreed
and for an easy life after death.
I ask You for the sweetness of looking upon Your face
and a longing to meet You in a manner that does not entail a calamity
that will bring about harm or a trial that will cause deviation.
O Allah, beautify us with the adornment of faith
and make us among those who guide and are rightly guided.

‫الَّلُه َّم َز ِّيَّنا ِبِز يَنِة الِإ يَم اِن َو اْج َع ْل َنا ُه َد اًة ُم ْه َتِد يَن‬

Allahumma bi 'ilmikal-ghaiba wa qudratika 'alal-khalqi

aḥyinee maa 'alimtal-ḥayaata khairan lee,
wa tawaffanee idhaa 'alimtal-wafaata khairan lee.
Allahumma wa asaluka khashyataka fil-ghaibi wash-shahaadati
wa asaluka kalimatal-ḥaqqi fir-riḍaa wal ghaḍab,
wa asalukal-qaṣda fil faqri wal-ghina,
wa asaluka na'eeman laa yanfadu wa asaluka qurrata 'ainin laa tanqaṭi'u,
wa asalukar-riḍaa-a ba'dal-qaḍaa-i wa asaluka bardal 'ayshi ba'dal-mawt,
wa asaluka ladhdhatan-naẓari ilaa wajhika washshawqa ilaa liqaa-ika
fee ghairi ḍarraa-a muḍirratin wa laa fitnatin muḍillah,
Allahumma zayyinnaa bizeenatil-eemaani waj'alnaa hudaatan muhtadeen.

ghillalil ladheena aamanuu.
Rabbana innaka rauufurraḥeem.

Master Supplication for forgiveness

O Allah! You are my Lord!

None has the right to be worshipped but You.
You created me and I am Your slave,
and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as much as I can.
I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done.
I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed
upon me, and I confess to You all my sins.
So I entreat You to forgive my sins,
for nobody can forgive sins except You.

A’uudhu bika min sharri maa ṣana’t.
Abuu-u laka bini’matika ‘alaiyy,
Wa abuu-u laka bidhanbee.
Faghfirlee fainnahu laa yaghfirudhdhunuuba
illaa Ant.

Allahumma Rabba Jibraaeela waMeekaaeela

waIsraafeela faaṭira-ssamawaati walarḍ,
‘aalimal-ghaybi washshahaadah.
Anta taḥkumu bayna ‘ibaadika feemaa kaanuu
feehi yakhtalifuun.
Ihdinee lima-khtulifa feehi minal-ḥaqqi biidhnik.
Innaka tahdee man tashaau ilaa ṣiraatim-mustaqeem.

Seeking adherence to the truth

O Allah! Show us the truth as truth,

and bestow adherence to it on us.
Show us the evil as evil, and make us stay away from it,
and do not confuse us regarding the reality of evil
so that we will not be led astray by it,
and make us leaders for the believers.

‫الَّلُه َّم َأِرَنا اْلَح َّق َح ًّق ا َو اْر ُز ْقَنا اِّتَب اَع ُه‬
‫َو َأِرَنا اْلَب اِط َل َب اِط ًل َو اْر ُز ْقَنا اْج تِنَاَبُه‬

Allaahumma arinal haqqa haqqaa,

warzuqna-tibaa'ah.
Wa arinal baaṭila baaṭil, warzuqna-jtinaabah.
Walaa taj'alhu multabisan 'alainaa fanaḍil.
Waj'alnaa lilmuttaqeenaa imaama.

For anxiety and sorrow

O Allah, I am Your slave, and the son of Your male slave,

and the son of your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand
(i.e. you have control over me). Your Judgment upon me is
assured, and Your Decree concerning me is just.
I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with,
revealed in Your Book, taught any one of Your creation,
or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is
with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart,
and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness,
and the reliever of my distress.

‫ وَذ َه اَب َه ِّم ـي‬،‫وَج َل اَء ُح ـْز ِني‬

Allaahumma innee 'abduk, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik,

naasiyatee biyadik, maaḍin fiyya ḥukmuk,
'adlun fiyya qadaauk.
Asaaluka bikullis-min huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak,
aw anzaltahu fee kitaabik,
aw 'allamtahu aḥadan min khalqik,
awistatharta bihi fee 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indak,
an taj'alal-Quraana rabee'a qalbee, wa nuura ṣadree,
wa jalaa-a ḥuznee, wa dhahaaba hammee.

wa al ḥiqnee biṣṣaaliḥeen.
Waj'al lee lisaana ṣidqin fil aakhireen.
Waj'al nee min warathati Jannatin na'eem.
Walaa tukhzinee yawma yub'athoon.

bimaa yaquuluun,

Aṣlih lee shaʾnee kullah.
Wa laa takilnee ilaa nafsee ṭarfata 'ayn.

Allah's help, guidance and mercy

O Allah, help me and do not help anyone against me.

Plot for me and do not plot against me.
Make guidance easy for me.
And help me against the one who attacks me.
O Lord, make me grateful to You, remember You, fearful of You,
obedient to You and humble to You, supplicating, penitent.
Accept my repentance. Wash away my wrong actions
and answer my supplication. Establish my proof
and guide my heart. Make my tongue correct
and make resentment flow out of my heart.

Rabbi-A'innee walaa Tu'in 'Alayy,

wa-anṣurnee wala Tanṣur 'Alayy,
wa-amkur lee wala Tamkur 'Alayy,
wa-yassir lee Al-Huda, wa-ṣurnee 'Ala man bagha 'Alayy.
Rabbi-j'alnee Shakkaran-lak, Dhakkaran-lak, Raahiban-lak,
Miṭwa'an-lak, Mukhbitan-lak, Awwaahan-Muneeban.

wa-ajib da'watee, wa-thabbit Ḥujjati,
wa-ahdi Qalbee, wa-saddid lisaanee,
waslul sakheema-ta-Qalbee.

Dua of Sulaiman ‫عليه السالم‬

My Lord! Grant me the ability that I may be

grateful for Your Favours which You have
bestowed on me and on my parents,
and that I may do righteous good deeds that
will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy
among Your righteous slaves.

An-Naml: 19

Rabbi awzi'nee an ashkura ni'matakallatee

an'amta 'alayya wa'ala waalidayya,
wa an a'mala ṣaalihan tarḍaah,
wa ad khilnee biraḥmatika
fee 'ibadikas ṣaaliḥeen.

 REST YOUR HEART
Strength of perseverance on the Deen

O Allah verily I ask of You for strength of perseverance on the

Deen, and determination in practicing of the Deen
and goodness. And I ask of You for that which obligates Your
mercy and calls for Your forgiveness. And I ask of You for the
capability to be thankful for Your blessings and to worship you
in a correct and good way. And I ask of You for a heart which is
purified in belief and a truthful tongue. And I ask of You for the
best of what You know, and I seek refuge with You from the evil
of what You know and I seek forgiveness for that which You
know. Indeed You are the One who knows the unseen.

، ‫ َو اْلَع ِز يَم َة َع َل ى الُّر ْش ِد‬، ‫الَّلُه َّم ِإِّني َأْس َأُلَك الَّثَب اَت ِفي اْلَأْم ِر‬
، ‫ َو َع َز اِئَم َم ْغ ِف َر ِتَك‬، ‫َو َأْس َأُلَك ُم وِج َب اِت َر ْح َم ِتَك‬
، ‫ َو ُح ْس َن ِع َب اَد ِتَك‬، ‫َو َأْس َأُلَك ُش ْك َر ِنْع َم ِتَك‬
،‫ َو ِلَس انًا َص اِد قًا‬،‫َو َأْس َأُلَك َقْل بًا َس ِليمًا‬
، ‫ َو َأُعوُذ ِبَك ِم ْن َش ِّر َم ا َتْع َل ُم‬، ‫َو َأْس َأُلَك ِم ْن َخ ْي ِر َم ا َتْع َل ُم‬
‫ ِإَّنَك أْنَت َع لَّاُم اْلُغ ُيوِب‬، ‫َو َأْس َتْغ ِف ُر َك ِلَم ا َتْع َل ُم‬

Allaahumma innee as-aluka ath-Thabata fil Amr,

wal azeemata 'alar-Rushd,
wa as-aluka Muujibaati Rahmatik,
wa 'Azaaima Maghfiratik, wa as-aluka Shukra N'imatik,
wa ḥusna 'ibadaatik, wa as-aluka Qalban Saleeema,
wa Lisaanan Ṣaadiqa,
wa as-Aluka min khairi ma Ta’lamu,
wa Auudhubika min Sharri ma Ta’lamu,
wa astaghfiruka limaa Ta’lamu,
Innaka Anta 'Allaamul- Ghuyoob.
