(b) The input voltage of Fig.-01 is 𝑉𝑠 = 200𝑉with load resistance of R=5Ω. The 2.5
load and stray inductance are negligible and the thyristor is operated at a frequency
of 𝑓𝑠 = 2 𝑘ℎ𝑧. If the required dv/dt is 100 V/μs and the discharge current is to be
limited to 100A, determine the values of Rs and Cs.

is 20Hz. If the converters are operated as semiconductors such that 0≤𝝰 ≤π and the
delay angle is 𝝰 𝑝 = 2π/3, determine

(a) the rms value of the output voltage 𝑉𝑜,

(b) the rms current of each thyristor 𝐼𝑅,
