CIVIC WELFARE AND TRAINING SERVICES

VISION
An institution with a culture of excellence in developing globally competitive and values-oriented
leaders and professionals

MISSION
The Sorsogon State College is committed to provide industry relevant programs that are anchored on a
culture of research and entrepreneurship for the development of Sorsogon and beyond.

GOAL OF TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION PROGRAM


The SSC technology education program aims to provide quality instruction and training in various areas
of technology; promote research, extension and production; strengthen linkages; establish and
implement development programs supportive of regional and national thrusts.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor of Technology is comprised of nine (9) areas of specialization namely Architectural
Drafting, Automotive Technology, Civil Technology, Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Food
Service Management, Garments Technology, Mechanical Technology, and Welding and Fabrication.
Likewise, the program consists of the general education subjects, professional education subjects,
major subjects, mandated subjects, elective subjects and on-the-job training.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES


At the end of the program, the graduate is expected to:
1. Apply technical skills and knowledge productively that will contribute to the global economy; 2.
Develop and innovate technology responsive to the needs of the community and;
3. Manifest values, effective leadership and professionalism in their field of work.
4. Integrates Gender and Development basic concepts such as gender mainstreaming rights-based
approach in the awareness among students.
5. Integrates Disaster Risk Reduction Management concerns such as COVID-19 and the IATF
Guidelines for MGCQ.

7. Course Description

The National Service Training Program is based on Republic Act 9163 or the National Service
Training Program (NSTP) Act which is signed into law in 2001. This program seeks to promote civic
consciousness among the youth and develop their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social
well-being. It also inculcates in the youth patriotism, nationalism, and advance their involvement in
public and civic affairs. It has three program components namely: (1) Civic Welfare Training Service
[CWTS]; Literacy Training Services [LTS]; and (3) Reserve Officers’ Training Service [ROTC].
