ASMITA (MONOACT)
In civilized life, where the happiness, and indeed almost the existence,
of man, depends so much upon the opinion of his fellow-men, heisal
ways acting studied part. In a Mono Act, an actor is vulnerable. His total
personality is exposed to critical judgment – his intellect, his bearing,
his diction, his whole appearance. If you can reveal your emotions in
front of the audience, here is your chance.
RULES
• Team members: 2 (including actor and editor), Their names
should be mentioned separately at the time of Registration.
• Time Limit: 3 to 8 minutes.
• The act can be in English, Hindi or Bilingual. Short phrases of other
languages can be used.
• Miming or ventriloquism is STRICTLY not allowed.
• Performance must consist of a single act with no blackouts.
• The video must be recorded from a static camera. Videos having
multiple angles/moving cameras are strictly not allowed
• Use of any kind of special effects and visual aid is STRICTLY
prohibited and will lead to direct disqualification.
• Points will be deducted on exceeding the time limit.
• The decision of the judges and organizers shall be final and
abiding.
• Any kind of vulgar, promoting intoxication & derogatory or hateful
content against any gender, race, caste or sexuality would lead to
immediate disqualification
VINE MAKING COMPETITION
RULES
• Length of the vines should be between 5-10 minutes.
• Team members: not more than 10 (including director and editor),
Their names should be mentioned separately at the time of
Registration.
• The script should be completely original and not be copied or
stolen from any source, we would actively look out for any kind of
plagiarism in any of the entries. Once found, it would lead to
immediate disqualification.
• Use of visual aid such as applying filters, using memes and
hysterical laughter is allowed but should be limited.
• The decision of the organizers shall be final and abiding.
• Slot preference will be given in the order of registration on the
first come first serve basis.
• Props can be used based on the discretion of the participants.
• There is no specific theme or topic for the vines but it should
cater to the audience at large.
• English and Hindi both languages are allowed with common
phrases from other languages also permissible.
• Any kind of vulgar, promoting intoxication & derogatory or hateful
content against any gender, race, caste or sexuality would lead to
immediate disqualification
MIMICRY (TEAM EVENT)
JUDGING CRITERIA: Acting, voice modulation, script improvisation,
Costumes (Relevant to the scene), Overall Impact
RULES
• The video length should be between 3 to 10 minutes.
• You have to either Imitate* or Recreate* a famous Scene from a
Movie, Web Series, TV show.
• Team members: not more than 10 (including director and editor),
Their names should be mentioned separately at the time of
Registration.
• Props can be used based on the discretion of the participants.
• Visual Editing such as special effects, video & audio filters, clips
from original scenes are NOT allowed, instead of background
music that DOESN’T contain any verbal dialogues can be used.
• The entry should be completely original and not be copied or
stolen from any source, Once found, it would lead to immediate
disqualification.
• The video submitted should be such that all the contents are
clearly visible and audio is also clearly audible.
• Any kind of vulgar, promoting intoxication & derogatory or hateful
content against any gender, race, caste, or sexuality would lead to
immediate disqualification
BANDISH
SUR (SOLO SINGING)
ABOUT-
“Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can’t.” So, if you
have the voice that can win hearts and steal the show, then get ready
to the stage as we bring forth “SUR: the Solo Singing Event”, where you
are given the ideal platform to show your talent and prove your mettle.
RULES
For Elimination and Prelims:
1. You are required to send us video recordings of your song. The video
should be in a
single frame (even in the case of accompanying instruments). The video
should start with
your Introduction (Name, College/School they belong to, State)
followed by the
performance.
Time limit:
• Elimination- 3 minutes.
• Prelims- 2 minutes.
2. Genre: Classical songs are NOT allowed. However, Semi-classical,
Light Indian
Music, Bollywood, and Western songs (NO screaming/growling)are
permitted.
3. Language: All languages are allowed.
4. Background tracks are permitted.
5. No mixing and mastering allowed; the entry should have raw audio.
6. Mashups and Medleys are allowed, provided they don’t exceed the
time limit.
7. You may have one accompanying instrumentalist with you for the
elimination round
and two for further rounds, or may play the instrument yourself, or use
an Electronic
Tanpura (under either case, you can’t use more than two instruments).
Only vocals shall
be judged, however.
8. Judging Criteria: Voice Quality, Voice Modulation, Sur, Taal, and
Choice of Song.
9. Points may be deducted on exceeding the time limit.
10. The participants qualifying for the prelims will move to the
elimination round. The top performers of the elimination round shall
advance to the finals. Participants have to perform a different
composition in each round of the event.
11. The decision of the judges and the organizers will be final & abiding.
FOR FINALS:
1. The finals will be conducted in LIVE mode on an online platform. You
shall introduce yourself and then proceed to perform on the spot, for
which you will be given a time of 5 minutes. You may be asked to sing
another song on the judge’s demand.
2. The general rules shall remain the same as those in the preliminary
round.
ADVAITA (BAND)
ABOUT-
If you think you can make the crowd forget themselves in your
performance, then this is the place to be. With massive enthusiasm and
fearsome competition, this event brings out the best in its participants
striving for glory. If you have a band that can’t lose and has a hunger for
wins, then come and perform against the most formidable bands in
India. It is the battle of bands, and the clash is raging hotter than ever.
RULES
1. The participants are required to send us a music video of their song.
The video should start with an introduction of the band followed by
their performance. Time limit: 6 minutes.
2. The performance may be of any genre and language.
3. Mashups and Medleys are allowed, provided they don’t exceed the
time limit.
4. Genre: Classical songs are NOT allowed. However, Semi-classical,
Light Indian
Music, Bollywood, and Western songs (NO screaming/ growling) are
permitted.
5. Band members should not fall below 3 and should not exceed10.
6. Obscenity and vulgarity are not allowed in lyrics and gestures.
7. Mixing and mastering are allowed.
8. Stage Performances are not allowed.
9. For the preliminary round, participants have to mail their video to
[email protected] with the video named as
“ADVAITA_BandName”.
10. A printed copy of the lyrics must be submitted at the time of the
event (for original compositions).
11. Judging Criteria: Instrumental Brilliance, Creativity, Tightness,
Vocals, and Public Appeal.
12. Points may be deducted on exceeding the time limit.
13. The decision of the judges and the organizers will be final & abiding.
ABOUT-
There’s something in the soft plink of a sitar or the mellifluous notes of
a flute that the human voice cannot seem to match. Instrumentalists
spend years perfecting their art, to achieve the thrilling pace at which
they change notes. Kashiyatra gives you a chance for you to hear and
create magic harmonies with instruments only. Let your emotions
radiate and shine in its character through instruments.
RULES
Preliminary Round
1. The participants are required to send us their entries as video
recordings. The video should start with an introduction of the
participant (Name, College/School they belong to, State) followed by
their performance. The top participants will move to the next round.
Time limit: 5 minutes.
2. Genre: All genres are accepted.
3. Backing tracks are not allowed, but music can be looped in real-time.
4. Judging Criteria: Clarity of Rendition, Creativity, Proficiency, and level
of difficulty of the composition. Original pieces will be given due points.
5. Points may be deducted on exceeding the time limit or in case of
using the aid of written notations.
6. All Instruments (String, Wind, Percussion-Electronic as well as
Acoustic) are allowed.
7. The participants will be judged in 2 separate categories: Percussion
and Non-Percussion.
8. The decision of the judges and the organizers will be final & abiding.
FINAL ROUND
1. Selected participants from the prelims will go into the final round.
The finals will be conducted in LIVE mode on an online platform.
2. General rules will remain the same as the prelims.
3. In the final round, for the percussion category, each selected
participant will be given a melody/bassline on the spot, to play on.
4. For the non-percussion category, each selected participant will be
given a drumbeat on the spot, to play on.
5. All the participants are required to introduce themselves, then
proceed to play and improvise on the given track.
6. The decision of the judges and the organizers will be final & abiding
RAP BATTLE
ABOUT-
Rap is something you live; hip hop is something you do”. Whenever it
comes to RAP the genre HIP-HOP gets automatically attached. Rap is
the medium to introduce your deepest darkest feelings through words
into the veins of listeners. Kashiyatra gives you a platform where your
voice is heard. So, grab your pens, start writing and get ready to set
some screens on fire.
RULES
Preliminary Round- -
1. The participants will be given 4 themes for the prelims, and will have
to compose and perform their original rap songs based on anyone
FINAL ROUND-
1. Selected participants from the prelims will go into the final round.
The finals will be conducted in LIVE mode on an online platform.
2. General rules will remain the same as the prelims.
3. The finalists shall introduce themselves and then proceed to perform
their original rap compositions on the spot, Time Limit: 4 minutes.
4. Judging Criteria- Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity,
lyrical proficiency (use of metaphors, double entendres, punchlines,
wordplay, etc.), and overall impact.
5. The participants shall use any beat of their choice.
6. The decision of the judges and the organizers will be final & abiding
MUSIC PRODUCTION
ABOUT-
This event tests your creativity as you have to convert the raw vocal
samples into a complete song using your mixing, mastering, and
remixing skills. The only limit is your creativity as you can spin the genre
of the song at your fingertips. So, if you are a producer looking to test
your skill against others, gear up & get ready to outdo yourselves. Go
toe to toe with the finest and let your creativity loose.
RULES-
Preliminary Round-
1. Participants have to submit an original music track in any
uncompressed audio format, along with their Digital Audio Workstation
FINAL ROUND-
1. The participants moving to the finals will be provided with a raw
sample of length 1-1.5 minutes
2. You have to import the provided sample into any DAW of their
choice and build a track around it (2-4 minutes long).
3. You must submit a track description in which you describe how you
used the given sample.
4. All genres are accepted.
5. You have to submit the DAW file and uncompressed audio file within
the given deadline.
6. Judging criteria: Originality of ideas, Creativity, Composition,
Arrangement of the Song, & Overall quality of the final mix.
7. The decision of the judges and the organizers will be final & abiding.
CROSSWINDS
RULES
The competition will be held in two phases, social media elimination
and the finals at Kashiyatra 2021.
ELIMINATION:
1. The competition is open to all rock/metal semi-professional bands.
2. Each band would be given a playing time of at least 2.5 minutes for
their exclusive entries to Kashiyatra.
3. There is no upper limit for the number of members in a band,
however, at any point in time, at least three members need to be on
the stage.
4. No pre-recorded audio or MIDI interfaces are allowed. However,
bands can use looper pedals for live looping.
5. All songs should have their lyrics written in English/other languages
but must strictly adhere to the metal/hard rock genre.
6. The criteria for elimination will be as follows:
Three-fourth of the total points will be judged by the reach and
reactions of the social media post, as for the rest one-fourth part, the
entries will be judged by the club based on the song selection,
technicality of the members, and the overall sound and band
cohesiveness.
8. Based on the participation, we will select a maximum of 7 bands
who will advance for the finals. (We can choose more bands on the
particular recommendation of judges)
FINALS:
1. The final performance will be held in Kashiyatra.
2. The performance time is limited to 8 minutes per band.
3. The performances should be exclusively for Kashiyatra, i.e., the
band should display a write-up board with the name of the event
and their performance on it.
4. No pre-recorded audio or MIDI interfaces are allowed. However,
bands can use looper pedals for live looping.
5. The judge’s decision will be final; the judges would announce the
results right after the headlining act of that day.
REVERIES
RULES:
1. Time limit: 1 to 1.5 minutes.
2. All genres are accepted.
3. Only guitars, bass, and keyboards are allowed.
4. Backing track: A/E: m, major backing tracks will be provided,
otherwise no backing tracks or Rhythm are allowed, live looping is
allowed.
5. Judging criteria: - Overall judging will be done in two parts:
(a) Proficiency of playing, creativity, clarity in execution, and level of
difficulty of the composition. Original pieces will be given due points.
This will constitute 30% of the total points
(b) No. of reactions and share on the post.
(i) Share: 3 Points
(ii) Like 2 Points
(iii) Love: -2 points
(iv) Other reactions: 1 Point
6. Points criteria: percentage of the most popular video out of 70.
7. Participants are required to like and share the official Facebook
pages of WMC, Crosswindz, and Kashiyatra.
8. Decisions of judges and the organizers will be final and abiding.
9. Promotion of page on popular media or any form of advertising is not
allowed.
QUIZ CLUB
Each quiz will have the same common format, which is described
below:
PRELIMS
• This will be the first round, which will be open to all the registered
participants.
• The Quizmaster (referred to as the QM hereafter) will stream a
presentation on an online meeting platform (such as Google meet) and
will explain the questions.
• The participants (who will be in teams) will communicate amongst
themselves (through another meet or discord or some other means)
and will fill their answers into a Google Form.
• After the questions are done, the QM will close the form and then
tally the answers, with the help of volunteers from the Quiz Club.
• Around 6 to 8 teams will be chosen for the finals, on the basis of their
scores. The QM’s discretion will be final and binding. They will also
introduce tie-breakers as they see fit.
FINALS
• The qualifying teams will once again join a meet, where the QM will
once again stream a presentation
• Standard quizzing rules will apply i.e., bounce/pounce format.
• The answers will be sent to the QM either through WhatsApp or
some other means decided by the QM (such as using discord voice
channels). This will be communicated to the finalists.
These are the basic rules for all the quiz events. Minor variations to the
rules may be done, according to the QM’s discretion.
SOLO DANCE
PRELIMS:
1. The songs used can be of any genre.
2.. The length of the video should be 90-120s.
3. The video must be recorded from a static camera.
4. Use of any kind of special effects or malpractices in editing is
STRICTLY prohibited.
5. The video should be recorded in a single take.
6. The video must start with a note “Kashiyatra’22” written on a page
followed by the performance. The participants can show the note
clearly and place it aside and start performing in the same take.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
1. Choreography – 30
2. Quality, Style, and Technique – 10
3. Attire and Execution – 10
The top 16 will be shortlisted for the second round and the rules will be
announced later.
DUO DANCE:
PRELIMS
1. The videos must be shot in a single take the length should be 90-
120s.
2. The video must be recorded from a static camera.
3. Use of any kind of special effects or malpractices in editing are
STRICTLY prohibited
4. The video must start with a note “Kashiyatra’22” written on a page
followed by the performance. The participants can show the note
clearly and place it aside and start performing in the same take.
The top 8 participants will be shortlisted for the finals and they need to
be prepared with a 3-5 minute video.
GROUP DANCE
PRELIMS
1. The length of the video should be 3-4 minutes.
2. The dance crews must have a minimum of 5 members and a
maximum of 30 members.
3. The video must start with a note “Kashiyatra’22” written on a page
followed by the performance. The participants can show the note
clearly and place it aside and start performing in the same take.
4. The video must be shot from a static camera and in a single take.
5. Use of any kind of special effects or malpractices in editing is
STRICTLY prohibited.
The top 12 crews will be selected ”or t’e finals and need to be prepared
with a 7–10 minute performance.
GENERAL RULES:
1. The decision of the esteemed judge and the organizers will be final
and binding.
2. The audio track must be added separately to the video to avoid any
external noise.
RAPIDFIRE
1. Three contests to be completed within the given timeframe.
2. The contests and theme to be declared on the spot.
3. Participants need to participate in a team of three.
4. Judging Criteria: Creativity, Neatness, Relevance to the theme,
Artistic skills, and Overall
appeal.
5. Adequate time will be given to complete and submit the artwork.
DIGIART
PAPERLESS
DOODLIT
1. Create a Doodle using any artform.
2. Only one entry is allowed per participant.
3. Judging criteria: Creativity, Relevancy to the theme, Uniqueness,
Neatness, & Overall appeal.
4. The theme will be given on the spot.
5. Adequate time will be given to complete and submit the artwork.
