*2: About the 200-pesos Commemorative note issued in 2008 in No.1, HOTS could not have enough note samples to
firmly assure the validation performance in the field, HOTS may need more samples in case if this banknote had
low acceptance rate or any other room to improve the performance.

TEST NOTE
This chapter shows only the parameters of note condition checks, which are defined individually for the currency
specified in this document. The other parameters and checks, which are common in all currencies, are defined in the
document, “HITACHI CASH MODULE Product Specifications Model: HT-3842-XXX”.
The width and length of the note are measured and compared to the nominal ones defined in table 1.2. And when
each of them excesses the tolerances, the note is rejected. The tolerances are from + 3mm to –5mm for width
(long edge) and from + 2mm to –3mm for length (short edge).
(WIDTH) +- 53 mm
(LENGTH) +- 32 mm
Brightness of the note is measured and when it is lower than a certain level, the note is judged to be soiled.
Table 1.3 shows the levels, which are defined for each denomination.
In the table, brightness is defined as 100 when note is pure white and 0 when black.
The values in the parentheses is the reference and they are equivalent to the percent reflectance of respective
denomination measured with the Macbeth’s Print Contrast Signal (PCS) meter (PCM II) at the standard A (Green
Filter).
NOTES *1: verification results with normal genuine notes sampled from the market, excluding the following
condition of notes.
• Notes defined in chapter 2.4.2 (4) of the document, “HITACHI CASH MODULE Product
Specifications Model: HT-3842-XXX”, and chapter 1.2 of this document.
• Notes repaired with adhesive tape and so on.
• With soil or strains, which affect the banknote design
*2: This means denomination error between the supporting denominations shown in table 1.2.
The figure is verified by simulation.
The figure is not applied to the currencies / denominations, which are not listed in the table 1.1 and
table 1.2, such as newly issued denominations, foreign currencies and so on.
*3: Classification of counterfeits and validation performance are defined in item No. 6 of table 6-1-1
Product Reliability in chapter 6 of the document; “HITACHI CASH MODULE Product
Specifications Model: HT-3842-XXX”.
In order that HCM handles the currency supported by this validation software, hardware adjustments and software
parameter settings must be performed.
About the hardware adjustment, internal guides of Cash Recycling Box and width of Cash Slot must be adjusted
to the positions defined in table 3.1.
The detailed way of these adjustments are defined in chapter 4 and 5 of the document, “Hardware Setting
Manual ”.
About the software parameter settings, Country/Regional Code and Denomination Code need to be specified as
shown in table 3.1. The detailed explanations about the parameters are defined in the document, “Denomination
code table ”.
