Absolute Encoder

 As the shaft rotates, an absolute encoder generates unique code for each position.

 By detecting the numerical changes of codes, the rotation direction and displacement
of the object can be determined without the need of a direction judgment circuit.

 When power up, the absolute encoders do not require a home cycle and they can find the
absolute index signal accurately even if the shaft is rotated while the power is switched off.

 Generally, the measuring range is 0°-360°, special models are available multi-turn measurement.
