Blumentritt, Mariano Ponce, Graciano Lopez Jaena, Pardo de Tavera, Antonio Luna and
Juan Luna, a copy of his novel. El Filibusterismo received extensive praises.
Despite of all the hardships he faced, Rizal stay still. His eagerness to fight
even more with those battles were became on fire. Of course, those situations were really
hard for him, but he chose to find ways to show to Filipinos his Love for his country. Not
like Noli me tangere whose message is focused to the Filipinos, El filibusterismo mainly
focuses on Rizal’s message to the Spaniards and Filipinos. He denounced the selfishness
of the Filipinos through the characters in El Filibusterismo. His experiences while doing
his second novel, was not easy. But Rizal didn’t forget to challenge the Filipinos,
especially the youths, to give an act for their nation. Rizal’s heart was still in the state of
helping for the development of the Philippines and he clearly says that we can’t achieve
freedom through doing revolution. And he wants us, Filipinos to be prepared before head
to govern ourselves and to have enough education and knowledge. He didn’t think only
for himself, but for the good of each one of us regardless of his situation.
