of education and the prevalence of electronic education widely around the world, although
the online education revolution but face-to-face education stays indispensable way in
various fields of knowledge. This paper examines the definitions of face-to-face education
and online education, it illustrates the advantages of the two styles of learning, the real
classroom setting learning and the advantages of e-learning also clarified the disadvantages
of the two modes of learning. Finally, this paper provides an argument about why face to
face learning, or why online learning is better, and why some learners prefer face-to-face
learning or why others prefer online learning.

Keywords
Face-to-face, online, learning, e-learning, lecturer, students, classroom. education.

Introduction
Learning styles in both face-to-face and online learning is very important. Face-to-face
learning or what we call traditional learning can be defined as the traditional style of
learning is an educational notion where the classroom or seminar content and learning
items are educative in-person to a group of students and the students can get a big benefit
from each other. In face-to-face learning provides the students with better understanding
and remembering of the class content and also make students interact with each other and
this interaction motivates them to participate and compete in the class. Online learning or e-
learning is a form of learning in which the students or the learner is utilizing the
technological devices to access the class meetings, audio, live chain t with the professor or
the lecturer, animations, or recording videos. Online education called electronic learning
because it depends entirely on electronic devices and needs an internet connection to
access the class meetings. The student is using a computer device and connects to the
internet at home. Online learning or e-learning is spreading among institutions of higher
education and universities more than schools. Face-to-face education or online education is
very important and one completing the other. Face-to-face education fits with some
students who prefer the traditional way of teaching also online education fits some students
who prefer the modern way of teaching.

Discussion
Face to face education or classroom education where the students and teacher or lecturer
are meeting in a set place and set time. Face-to-face education is the best way of learning
because its combines different ways of knowledge and skills to help and improve students in
their learning. (headspace.org). Online education or e-learning with the development of
Technical technology is a good way to learning but, in some conditions, not in all conditions.
Online education is completing real class education or what we call face to face education.
Online education is mostly very important if there is something that prevents face to face
education and stops it. One of the conditions which prevent some students from completing
their learning is the far distances from learning institutions, so e-learning is shortening the
distances between them also less the costs of travel. Another reason we can consider online
education is a good way in under circumstances of wars, disease, and viral infection which
we are facing in the current time.

To continue learning, we must use e-learning but, it's not replaced face to face education or
real classroom for many important reasons. In face-to-face education, students attend class
daily, communicate with other students, and competitive benefits. The lecturer is applying
study notes can help students to pass the exams. The student's questions get answered in
actual time which means do not wait until the lecturer comeback to you. The teacher or
lecturer can give you the most important points in sections in the textbook. Psychologically
when you attend to lecture in a real classroom situation you will have a good feeling as if you
gained a big reward. The institution or university which you have class in it, give you a
timetable with the class date and time. In face-to-face education, your lecturer will receive
your assignment by hand, which means you do not worry about your work getting lost. And
can get comments on your work in real-time no need to wait a long time. The students are
focusing on their learning better than when they are at home because there are fewer
distractions. In the real classroom, students get a big Understanding from each other's and
the teacher and in traditional classroom situations, the students feel comfortable and learn
easily. The students are feeling more engaged when the activities are completed in the real
classroom. Face-to-face education, students can communicate with each other's in the same
course, also they can discuss different issues with other students and the teacher. That's
why online education is not replacing face-to-face education, but it is considered completing
the real classroom setting or traditional education. (www.colleges.co.za).

What is an online learning and why now? This is the most important question in this paper,
to answer this question we must illustrate that after the growth of population, the age of
development, the digital world, and the internet, most people start using technological
devices to close the far distance, and that why the learners start using online learning
because this kind of teaching provides many advantages to the learners. The learner can
access from any online computer which means provides convenience to the learners and
this type emphasis on writing style and skills, technical skill, and life skill it's means enhanced
teaching. Also gives the students more time to think before communicating, innovative
teaching, interaction, and the raise assortment and innovation of learning. These advantages
help students who have some barriers which prevent them to attend the traditional
classroom setting, it's such those students who live remotely and those who are working and
their job time are not proper to the real classroom time, so they study after work in a proper
time to fit with their schedule. (www.indiaeducation.net).

Some students don't want to go to educational institutions such as schools, universities, or
whatever, the electronic teaching allowed them to have their lessons and attend class
through online meetings. In online learning no need to go to educational institutions to save
time and money. At any time, any place students can attend the class in the evening or the
morning on the bus, coffee, train, kitchen wherever or whenever. When the meeting or the
lecture is ending you can download the lecture and return to it again when you need it.
Actually, most e-learnings depends on pre-recording videos of lectures, so you can open the
records video at any time and place. Also, you can stop the video to write some notes and
you can slow and speed the video to get more understanding. No need to buy textbooks
there are a lot of options and resources on the internet so you will save your money. You
can discuss different issues with other students in the same course from around the world.

The disadvantages of face-to-face education and online education.

Face-to-face education.

• Because of the time limitation in class the teacher cannot answer every question.
• In face-to-face education, the students should carry their textbooks every day and
that might be heavy.
• Face-to-face education class time different from morning to the afternoon if the
learner has a job or work or any responsibilities, it might not fit into his/her time
• In face-to-face education, students spend more time and money on travel.
• Some students are shy and have difficulties to ask the teachers their questions
directly.
• The students need to buy the textbooks and that costs them a lot of money.
• In face-to-face education, students should go to the educational institutions daily
whatever the weather may be rainy, snowy, stormy, and hot weather.

Online education.

• One of the most important problems and disadvantages of online education is

cheating. The students in online classes are cheating in various and variety notions,
so online students can cheat in the exam easily.
• Online teachers are focusing on developing theoretical knowledge instead of
practical skills.
• In online education, students lack face-to-face communication with each other.
• Online education is limited to some branches of knowledge, not all branches, for
example, medical students cannot study online because they need practical skills in
the real setting, not in the digital world.
• Online education is not available to the unlettered population, must take this point
into the consideration because there is a lot of students their parents are
uneducated and did not know how to use the internet or computer, so if some
students belong to uneducated families how can they attend an online class.
• Online education needs speed and a good internet connection and, in some towns,
there is a bad connection so the students will lose their lectures.
• Online education lacks quality assurance.
• In online education, sometimes the students sit in a noisy place when they are
attending the online class, these students cannot pay attention to the teacher, so
they do not understand the class content.

3
• One of the most important problems in online education is the struggle of focusing
on the computer screen for a long time.

Conclusion
After clarified the advantages and disadvantages of the two modes of education, we can say
that the two modes are very significant and one complete the other means no one replaces
the other. Some students may prefer face-to-face education for one or more than one
reason for example they want to communicate with and benefit from each other, maybe to
feel in a good mood when they attend to the real classroom setting so those students feel
this type of education proper and fit to them so they prefer face-to-face or what we call the
traditional way of education. While other students prefer online education because they find
this type of education fit with their time and their life may be some students far from the
educational institutions so they prefer online education to save time and money. The two
styles of education have advantages and disadvantages, have a good and bad point, and
everyone has their own view about the two types so we cannot less the importance of
online or face-to-face education. The students choose which type of education is proper for
them and fit with their, but face-to-face education stays the oldest and the best way of
learning on my opinion and in view of many learners. Face-to-face education despite some
disadvantages but remain the effective way of education for many reasons that mentioned
in this essay.
