The closer I got to the stage the more nervous I was getting. Watching the far more
experienced dancers go I started to think if I was going to do good at all!
Stepping on the the huge clear stage made me remember what my friends said, “just have
fun!” There still telling me as I walk to where I was supposed to stand. When all of a sudden
the song starts to play catching me off guard! I snap out of day dreaming and start dancing,
trying to remember every step, turn, and kick. It was probably one of the funniest things I've
done in a long time but still very difficult.
Everybody in the crowd seemed to have liked it too! Everybody clapping to the beat and
calling our names, I felt on top of the world.
• Penutup
That was one of my most special days, that I will never forget.

Last month, I enjoyed my weekend on a hill with some friends. It is not very far from my home, about
60 kilometres away. We went there by cars. It took about 45 minutes drive. My friends and I started the trip at
06.30. When we got there, the wind was blowing very hard.
We stayed in a villa. Local people said that there was a ghost in it and it liked to disturb the guests. I
tried not to believe it. However, on the second night, when I was going to the toilet, I saw an old lady with long
grey hair standing in front of the toilet door.
She turned her head to me and gave me a strange smile. All my body was frozen and I didn’t know what
happened after that, until one of my friends woke me up about 10 minutes later.
That was the first time I saw a ghost in my life.
The rest of the night was a terrifying experience. It was late at night. So, nobody could close the eyes to
get some sleep. The excitement to spend the following Sunday morning flew away. We packed our stuff and
went back home very early, sleepy and haunted by the old lady.

On 17 August 2014, there was a special event in my hometown. The mayor held a big
competition of Pinang Climbing. This competition was held to celebrate the independence day.
Early in the morning, many people had gathered in the town square. In the middle, there were
exactly one hundred poles. Various prizes, such as t-shirts, radios, pans, and bicycles were hung on the
top of each pole.
At 10 o’clock, thge competition started. Unlike the unusual Pinang Climbing competition in
which the competitors work individually, thisn time the competitors worked in team. There were ten
teams in this event. They would compete to get the prizes as many as they could.
The crowd enjoyed watching the team struggle to reach the top. They yelled and gave applause
every time a successful team grabbed the prizes and dropped them down. It was not an easy job to do
because the pole was so slippery. Each pole had been covered with grease. However, all teams had
good strategies. At about 12 a.m. nearly all the prizes had been taken away.
It was an exciting experience. I myself cheered my favourite team so loudly that I nearly lost
my voice.

I had never been camping before I met my best friend, Hamzah. I didn’t know that camping
meant sleeping out in nature, in a tent. I guess I didn’t really think about it at all.
We were off to a nearby campground. We drove in and paid for our site. It was beautiful. There
were ducks and a small lake and up on the hill there was a pool and small store if you needed
anything.
At dusk we lit our fire. It was very nice and pleasant. However I had a small allergy problem
with mosquitoes. I hate bugs, and mosquitoes seem to be the worse, due to their stinging and being
irritating. It was awful, but the camp fire was nice. Hamzah told me about her camping stories.
They were really interesting.
After a full night of stories and fire, we settled in out the tent. We slept in our sleeping bags on
the ground. To my surprise, the ground was not wet, and we had a small air mattress under us. Of
course, the mattress wasn’t as comfortable as mine at home but it was no problem.
Then in the middle of the night I heard scuffling just out of our tent. I woke Hamzah and I told
her that there was a bear in our camp. She told me to just go back to sleep. I really didn’t know that

Suddenly my car lunched to one side, to the left. I thought I got flat tire. I did not know that it was

way to my house, in the town.
