ATTITUDE
• Attitude- Definition:
– Attitude is a settled way of thinking or feeling about
something. It is the way you look at things.
– In psychology, an attitude refers to a set of emotions,
beliefs, and behaviors toward a particular object,
person, thing, or event. Attitudes are often the result of
experience or upbringing, and they can have a powerful
influence over behavior
– Your attitude decides your aptitude and your altitude.
– Attitude is the foundation of one’s personality.
– Attitude can be of two types: Positive Attitude (Positive
thinking) and Negative Attitude (Negative Thinking)

• Positive Attitude
• Positive Attitude is a way of thinking where the focus is
on good in people, situations, and events. The people
with positive attitude always try to look at the brighter
side of life though there are many problems.

• Negative Attitude
• Negative Attitude is a way of thinking where the focus
is always on the bad in people, situations, and events.
The people with Negative attitude always try to look at
the darker side of life though there are many good
things happening in their lives.

• Positive Attitude (or) Positive Thinking-
Features:
• Positive thinking is all about changing our
ideas, perceptions and interpretations
about the things around us.
• Positive thinking is the capacity to focus on
what is right and neglecting what is wrong
or unpleasant.
• Positive thinking is focusing on reality and
possibility of happening certain things with
confidence and determination.

• 1. Positive thinking looks at self first – we should
first look at our strengths and good qualities
• 2. Positive thinking overcomes hurdles – it
overcomes the opposition, and negative thinking
from others.

However small, old victories help to gain
confidence.
• 4. Positive thinking is contagious – positive
thinkers change the attitude of others also into
positive way and infuse confidence among them.
