distributed by Netflix. The movie tackled about how three college graduates who struggled in the
beginning with their love life, job satisfaction, and family problem. Eventually the idea of having
a startup that later on will be created by the realization of downfall from overcoming a
discrimination of the uncle and father of Vinay’s lover. The idea of building the startup came
from Kapil having a struggle to help some old people in the village to get their respective
medicine they needed for their illness, thus resulting to a death because of shortage in medicine
supplies. Kapil sparked this idea of an app where people are able to order the medicine they
need and other people who are along the way are able to deliver this medicine to them. This
app is later on called CarryKaro which they have funded with the money they’ve saved. The
startup went well as they receive orders from people who need the medicine, as the app
progresses, they have finally got up to the process that in order to keep the app running they
need some investors to fund the app. As they presented their app to some investors in the
event, the investors pointed out that the app is still far to being successful and I agree to what
the investors have said, the investors didn’t consider the feelings of the presenters and focused
more on how the app will progress in the future.
Investment on the app is very important, an investor can’t just allocate his or her money
to a company that may not succeed in the near future. Eventually, they ended up closing the
app with no money to fund for it to run. Kapil was on the verge of giving up on the startup but
had the opportunity to talk to the richest son of a multibillion company in India. This gave him
the idea to pursue the person and persuaded him to fund their app. Eventually, he got the
investment from Veer and got the fund they need to run the app again. This shows that with
perseverance and consistency anything is possible, it is a matter of not giving up and giving
your all dedication to a certain thing. We must remember that each obstacle has it set back but,
it is also known to us that with bigger obstacle or problem the bigger the reward there is for your
hard work.
As the company was being built, Kapil is now the Chief executive officer and Vinay
became the Chief Operating Officer, lastly is Yash becoming the Chief Technology Officer. The
company is growing and they got some additional investors to invest in their company with
offering the idea of the app and how it is growing vastly. Eventually, Yash had managed to
come up on adding not only medicine as the supply to be delivered by the app but also other
essentials and things such as liquor with some minor adjustments on the algorithm of the app.
Investors are also looking for companies who are viable of profit, these numbers that are being
produced by the company are an eyecatcher for investors to invest more money on the
company. As they see the numbers of the company go high, they’ll invest more money to that
company to boost its production and increase more profit.
I wouldn’t say that Kapil, Yash, and Vinay are a perfect example of an entrepreneur
because they have some lapses. Yash has his personal problems and letting it interfere with his
job, having a vice is normal but abusing that vice may affect your work therefore affecting the
company. Vinay seems to be not fully invested in their company and have some other ideas
with his life. I think that Kapil is the closest person to be a perfect example of an entrepreneur
who gives almost of his time to the company and reaching out to other investors, making the
company larger. The only slight problem is that he’s eventually forgetting what was his first
motivation of building the company.
The company was a big success from the beginning, starting from getting major
investment from Veer and the following meeting with some media personnel. They are getting
some exposure for other investors to see and open their eye for a new investment. Getting to
halfway and end of the company, problems are now surfacing for the company. Personal
problems have become a thorn to each other, with the trust being broken as the other friend
have change some details to the company without the other’s consent and some issues that
aren’t being prioritize.
I see our business idea that our group have pitched in the class lacking some details and
certain aspects that aren’t being considered. For a successful business to progress, there are
some important details that needs to be considered like how viable that idea will become. Our
business idea has some minor lapses that we haven’t considered, but with some adjustments, I
see that the idea could work and will help a lot on the construction industry solving problems
that may have been quite too long.
