STRUCTURAL CALCULATION AND ENGINEERING

1 General
The supplier is expected to provide Complete 230kV Outdoor Substation HV Equipment supporting structure
Calculation report, Construction drawing, Equipment Foundation Details, including details, those that have not
been specified, but are necessary for installation and for good operation practices.
Apart from above, the supplier is also expected to furnish
a. Short circuit power conductors and busbar mechanical sizing report
b. 230kV Outdoor Substation Stringing tables for HV conductors
c. Wire sag/tension calculation
d. short-circuit force calculation according to IEC865-1 for mechanical dimensioning for mechanical
verification of HV power conductors into the 230kV substation due to a short-circuit event

This document includes design criteria, design parameters and design calculation for the Busbar and Entry
gantry to be installed in 230kV outdoor substation. The structure is designed with four standardized
columns and three standardized girders. The gantry is “lattice structure” bolted type.

The objective of the supplier is to design the optimum structural systems to find the best design that
minimizes the weight, Manufacturing cost and material selection considering most unfavorable condition
as described in IEC 61936 and other International and Bangladesh Standard.

The structure analysis is realized with truss elements software PLS-TOWER / STAAD.
