Q1. (a) Draw the Non-Inverting Amplifier circuit using Operational Amplifier and derive the Input Impedance,
Output Impedance and Closed-loop Gain for it. [4]

Q2. (a) Find v0/v1 in the circuit shown in Figure 1 if Vcc = ± 15V. [5]

(b) For Figure 2, find v0 for vs = 9.6V. Assume Vcc = ±15V, and specify the range of vs required to avoid
amplifier saturation. [3+2]

Q3. (a) The open-loop gain of a certain Op-Amp is 200,000. Its common mode gain is 0.16. Determine the CMRR in
decibels. [2]
(b) An Op-Amp datasheet specifies CMRR of 300,000 and Aol of 90,000. What is common-mode gain? [2]
(c) Determine the bias current, IBIAS, if the input currents to an Op-Amp are 8.3μA and 7.9μA. [2]
(d) Calculate the input offset current in part (c). [2]
(e) Figure 3 shows the output voltage of an op-amp in response to a step input. What is the slew rate? [2]

(a) find v0 as a function of the input voltages va, vb, vc and vd,
(b) find v0 when va = 1V, vb = 2V, vc = 3V and vd = 4V, and
(c) if va, vb and vc are held constant, what values of vd will not saturate the operational amplifier? [4+3+3]

Q8. The op amp in the noninverting amplifier circuit of Figure 8 has an input impedance of 560kΩ, an output impedance
of 8kΩ and an open-loop gain of 50,000. Assume that the op amp is operating in its linear region.
(a) Calculate the voltage gain (v0/vg ). [2]
(b) Find the inverting and noninverting input voltages vn and vp (in millivolts) if vg = 1V. [2]
(c) Calculate the difference (vp − vn) in microvolts when vg = 1 V. [2]
(d) Find the current drain in picoamperes on the signal source vg when vg = 1V. [2]
(e) Repeat (a), (b), (c) and (d) assuming an ideal op amp. [2]

(b) What is the input offset voltage of an op-amp if a dc output voltage of 35mV is measured when the input
voltage is zero? The op-amp’s open-loop gain is specified to be 200,000. [2]
(c) A voltage-follower is driven by a voltage source the resistance of 75Ω. What value of compensation resistor
is required for bias current, and where should the resistor be placed? If the two input currents after
compensation are 42μA and 40μA, what is the output error voltage? [2]
