I. COURSE TITLE

HUMBOR – HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN ORGANIZATION

II. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OVERVIEW


The main objective of Human Behavior subject is to help the students to acquire and develop skill to
take rational decisions in the process of human behavior. People have always been regarded as
important in managing organizations. Human aspects are critical in each functional aspects of
management and equally so for the effective utilization of resources. In view of this, organizational
behavior has assumed great importance. This course is designed primarily for students who are being
exposed to Human Behavior for the first time. This course covers the explanations about the human
behavior in the organizational context. It details the impact of individual, group and organizational
factors on human behavior. The course also focuses on understanding the behavior of the employees
working in the organization. It highlights the significance of challenges and opportunities of OB,
perception, attribution, learning, organizational change, organizational culture, motivation, leadership
and conflict management. Classroom activities involving lectures, discussions and case studies (topped
up with role play) will be designed to encourage students to get involved and absorb & assimilate
inputs. These activities will also be supplemented by group discussions, cooperative group solving
problems, analysis of video cases and debates.

IV. LIST OF COURSE CONTENT

To ensure the realization of the course learning outcomes (CLO), this course will cover the following topics for
you to learn.

Module 1: Meaning and Relevance of History


This module will help you to learn that history is important because it allows you to make more sense of the
current world. You will learn to look at past economic and cultural trends and be able to offer reasonable
predictions of what will happen next in today's world. In this module, you will also understand why some rules
exist in the modern world.

Module 2. Distinction of Primary and Secondary Sources


This part will enable you to will learn how to identify and differentiate between primary and secondary
sources. Here, you will analyze scenarios and records to demonstrate your ability to differentiate between
primary and secondary sources. You will also define, in your own words, the terms “primary” and “secondary”
sources.

C. DEFINITION OF TERMS

1. Misconception Check
This learning activity will present you with a common or predictable misconception about our
designated topic. You will be asked to whether you agree or disagree and explain why.
2. Online Safari
This learning activity will ask you to find any information through the Internet.
3. Case Study
This activity will require you to do a research method involving an up-close, in-depth, and detailed
examination of a particular case related to our course topics.
4. Interview
This activity will require you to conduct a conversation with another person so you can gather in-depth
information on people's opinions, thoughts, experiences, and feelings needed to improve your
communications skills.

VI. COURSE STUDY GUIDE


This module was prepared for you to work on diligently and independently. This course is for you to advance
your knowledge in the readings in Philippine History and for you to develop historical and critical
consciousness so that you will become versatile, articulate, broadminded, morally upright and responsible
citizens. So, it is important that you:
1. Manage your time well. Schedule properly your reading activity and other hands-on exercises. It
would be better to have a planner so you can plot your activities and submission deadlines.
2. Keep your focus. Make sure you do things in a prioritized manner. Learn to arrange how you will do
things. Do your activities one at a time. If you cannot understand some parts of the activity, feel free to
contact me so I can help and assist you. At the end of this guide, you’ll see my contact information.
3. Give your best. Remember that we are training you to become a professional. So when you do your
tasks, whether formative or summative, always strive for excellence.

To pass this course you must:


1. Read all required readings and answer succeeding activities provided.
2. Perform all test activities (pre, post, formative, and summative)
3. Perform and submit all homework
4. Submit all requirements on time
5. Take the Midterm and Endterm Exam

Formative Assessments
1. Please answer all self-assessment activities.
2. Your scores here will not be a part of your final grade but they will be part of the completion requirement
of the course.

Summative Assessments
1. Quiz and Exam
2. There will be 6 mini-quizzes (online), 3 unit quizzes (modular), and 2 term exams to be given in this course.
3. Evaluation Activities
4. Answer all evaluation activities at the end of each topic/unit. These activities are part of your term grades.
5. Case Studies
6. There are 3 case studies in this course. These cases are linked with each topic in this course. These case
studies are part of your term grades.

Assignments and Final Project

1. There will be six (6) assignments for this course.


2. Your portfolio will be the basis for the Final Project. This includes all self-assessment worksheets,
assignments, and case studies provided in this course.

IX. TOOLS AND INSTRUMENTS

1. Technological. You will be needing Microsoft Office applications especially MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS-
Excel. These are offline applications and don’t need internet connection. You will also need you Google
Classroom access for this course.
