TOURISM IMPACT ON THE ECONOMY

Zoobic Safari is an established park operated by the Zoomanity Company, the largest
Theme Park operator in the Philippines. This company belongs to the Yupangco Group of
companies, a group of industries from furniture to insurance to travel and leisure. According to
Requintina (2010), the Zoomanity Organization intends to transform the country into a green
thematic park focused on ecology, education, and passion visions. The pioneer of the theme park
deems that in a tourism world currently dominated by our neighboring countries, the Philippine
tourism industry will continue to expand as a destination for parks centers. Zoomanity President
Robert Yupangcoaims to change this vulnerability by developing parks that will increase the
arrival of visitors in the Philippines and to raise public awareness about biodiversity (Castro,
2010; Requintina, 2010).

As the only tiger theme park in the Philippines, Zoobic Safari, being part of the tourism
sector that attracts many tourists from various countries, positively contributes to the growth of
both the local and national economy.

LOCAL ECONOMY
This park generates hundreds of jobs and provides income for their employees. Last year,
2019, Zoobic Safari paid about Php 1 680, 233.00 for its utilities. They also cost Php 2, 968,
315.56 for the salaries and wages of their employees. Their contribution to SSS Philhealth and
Pag-Ibig is Php 1, 295, 218.00, and for Security and Janitor Services costs Php 275, 600.00.
Aside from that, the amount of tax they paid for the year 2019 is Php 98, 412.72. These are just
some of the Zoobic Safari's direct contributions. Besides that, numerous indirect contributions,
such as travel fare of their employees going to back and forth to the park, Food and Beverages,
Garbage Fees, and the food they feed for the animals, etc., are also included.

NATIONAL ECONOMY
Since this is an attraction, a tourist from outside the country needs to travel to the
Philippines for them to avail of the product and services that this park is being provided. It
causes them to bring money inside the country, which is a good thing for the national economy.
In tourism sectors such as theme park Zoobic Safari, the increase of foreign exchange earnings,
income, employment, and taxes occurs. It will somehow help the country to make up for the
leakage loss.

TOURISM IMPACTS ON CULTURE AND SOCIETY
Zoobic Safari gives you a chance to meet these wonderful animals up close and personal,
promote awareness and concern for their species thru education/information given by our
competent Tour Guides, a unique avenue to commune with nature and most of all, experience an
adventure like no other here in the country: A close encounter with the biggest members of the
cat family. This may very well be the closest thing to a real animal jungle safari around here in
the country. This place is also important and relevant in the Philippine culture and our society
because Zoobic Safari is the only Tiger Safari in the Philippines located in the heart of the forest
of Subic Bay Freeport Zone.it has been the site of the significant moments in the Philippine
History.
As we aim to preserve the beauty and cultural heritage of the attractions in the zoo itself.
Furthermore, it also gives impact to our tourism industry through the preservation of the animals
in zoobic safari. However, due to our current situation it lessens the numbers of tourists, but
regardless, the preservation and sustainability of our cultural heritage is a way of preserving our
culture itself

SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND PRACTICES

Zoobic Safari aims to meet their preservation role through reproducing, education,
research, animal welfare, ecological advancement, renewed introduction, and support for
protection of species and their natural habitats. In Zoobic, tourism can be an instrument in
advancing biodiversity protection.
Like any other organizations and businesses, Zoobic faces changes in economy,
expanded affectability to ecological conditions, the need to give a stable workplace and retain
good employees, all while giving products and services of value to its customers. Thus, beside
from the core mission of giving a natural experience that promotes recreation, education, and
conservation through experiences with animals, economic sustainability has become a significant
motivation in applying sustainable practices in Zoobic’s operations.
Zoobic Safari embarked on its sustainability plan and with the help and support of other
stakeholders such as the local government and local community, will help the zoo to move
forward and develop an effective plan that they could implement.
As part of Zoobic Safari’s sustainable tourism development, researches will be conducted
to select and form significant information needed for the planning process. Zoobic will also hold
a survey to gather information and facts from their staff and key stakeholder to recognize
potential policies and strategies that will enable the zoo to turn out to be more manageable as
well as to introduce sustainable practices.
In terms of their environmental development, there would be environmental footprint for
the facility. This will fill in as a pattern of the facility and essential emphasis will be in zones of
water, wastes and energy. Emerging with environmental footprint can be overwhelming thus,
Zoobic Safari aims to identify the most instantaneous factors that contributes. Yearly audits just
as an environmental checking arrangement of the facilities’ environmental footprint will permit
progress to be estimated.
Zoobic Safari also has developed several guidelines for its sustainability development.
This will focus their sustainable practices that defines Zoobic’s objectives and activities. Zoobic
