Cleaning Guidelines for Ucrete UD200 flooring

Introduction:

Ucrete UD200 is a heavy duty polyurethane screed with a textured finish which is widely used
throughout the food and beverage industry in a variety of process environments.

The very chemical resistant nature of Ucrete UD200 means that no commercially available
cleaning compounds will damage the floor when used at their normal concentrations.

The cleaning chemicals chosen should be appropriate to the environment and the soils to be
encountered. As with all cleaning procedures the soil must be mobilized and then removed from
the surface. Puddling of cleaning solutions if allowed to evaporate to dryness will lead to deposits
on the surface and 'water marks' which can be hard to remove subsequently.

Mechanical cleaning equipment should be used for best results particularly on larger floors.

The advice given is of a general nature, if in doubt as to the most appropriate cleaning regime
please contact your specialist cleaning company, your cleaning chemicals supplier or BASF CC
for further advice.

Cleaning:

Cleaning regimes should be conducted with sufficient frequency to ensure that a safe working
environment is maintained at all times.

Remove debris; do not expect mechanical scrubber – dryer machines to remove large items of
food and packaging debris.

In greasy environments use a proprietary degreasing agent (for example: Taski actival, ‘Vegetable
oil & fat remover’ from Diversey Lever) High temperatures in excess of 50 oC and mechanical
action greatly improve the mobilisation of fats.

Degreasing agents require time to work, when using scrubber - dryers it will often prove beneficial
to apply the cleaning solution to the floor with the vacuum turned off and after a few minutes
return to the area to scrub and remove the cleaning solutions.

Mechanical action helps shift dirt.

Cleaning solution and soil must be removed from the floor, otherwise a layer of soil and detergent
may build up making the floor slippery and reducing the appearance. The use of a squeegee on a
textured floor is likely to leave a thin film residue behind, so effective rinsing is required for best
results.
Summary:

Good housekeeping will enhance the life of any floor.

The use of mechanical cleaning equipment is recommended particularly on larger floors and
those with a textured surface profile.

Do not allow cleaning solutions to puddle on the floor and evaporate to dryness. Follow the
cleaning chemical and equipment manufacturer's instructions.
