Dear Sir,

Good day.
I am writing this letter to formally file a complaint against Anytime Fitness University Belt
Branch located in Sampaloc, Manila. This complaint is filed due to unprocessed refunds
regarding my monthly membership.
Since March 17, 2020, it was announced by Anytime Fitness via email that it will be closed
indefinitely due to the implemented quarantine by the government. Attached herewith is the
email I received on my inbox (see item 1 enclosed). All accounts were frozen which means there
were no charges made on the credit card. However, after several months, on October 08, 2020
and November 08, 2020, billing statements from the bank came and showed that Anytime
Fitness charged me 2,300 pesos for the month of September and October (see item 2 & 3
enclosed). This was unacceptable given that I did not receive any notification from the branch
that they re-opened since September which should have given me a heads-up that they will start
charging monthly memberships again. Also, I was not residing in Manila at that time because I
went home to my home province since quarantine was implemented and universities have shut
down. During this time, I also happened to fall within the quarantine age restrictions. As per
IATF guidelines, only ages 21-60 years old were allowed to leave homes. It was only until
October 15, 2020, that age restrictions were eased. With these reasons, I was not able to use my
membership on these said months.
On November 25, 2020, I reached out to my home branch via email to inquire about my
membership since I was worried they were already deducting monthly dues to my mom’s credit
card. They replied that they were open since September and were already charging monthly
membership dues. They asked me to file a suspension form to freeze my account from December
to February. I filled the form since I was worried they would charge me again. On December 09,
2020, I personally contacted the branch. I explained my reasons and asked for refunds and
cancellation but they said that they will get back to me. However, a month has already passed
and I was still not able to get a response from them. I would like to be assisted with this issue
regarding my refund.
You may contact me through my email, [email protected] or my contact number
09294864335. I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my complaint.
Respectfully yours,
Krizzi Eve Garcia
