All vocabs from Lesson Student Book p.88-89 Play “Stop the bus!”
1-5 Workbook p.84-85 Put children into small groups and write four categories on the board [for example
clothes, animals, places, foods]. Then say a letter and children must come up with one
example for each category *For example if the letter is ‘S’ the answers could be shoe,
shark, Singapore, sandwich]. When the team has four answers they shout ‘Stop the bus’
STRUCTURE and if they are correct they win that round. Repeat with a different letter.

1-5 - CD tracks 57-58 Recording 57:
Play audio and demonstrate the activity using the example, then have the students
listen and draw lines.
Check answers as a whole class.
Reading and Writing
 Have student look at the story and call out the words they know.
 Demonstrate the activity using the example.
Have students read the text and circle the best answer.
Check answers as a whole class.
Afterwards, divide the class into pairs and have students practice the questions and
answers.
Song
Have students turn to page 128 and read the lyrics as a whole class.
Play audio (recording 58) and have students listen.
Play audio again and have students listen and sing along.
Game
Divide the class in groups of 4. Divide the groups into pairs. Have each pair use a
different color pen.
Have students play rock, paper, and scissors. The winners will go first.
Student A from the first team points to space on the board where they wish to put a
mark and asks the related question. Student B answers. If correct, then that team can put
a mark on the space. If incorrect, the next team takes their turn.
The winners are the team that can get three of their own marks in a row, horizontally,
vertically or diagonally.
Note: Swap students roles after each turn.

‘Can Do’ statements
Read out the statements and give an example for each.
In pairs, have students give a few more examples of each function, then briefly
practice.
Ask students to color one, two or three stars to show how well they can perform the
task. (3 stars = Great; 2 stars = Good; 1 star = Needs more study)
