- How do you show the people you love that they are special to you? Have you
ever received a card? Maybe for your birthday?
- Explain to the students that today we are making Christmas cards that you can
give to someone special at home! Mrs. Mahoney is passing out a piece of paper
right now and awe are going to write a message on it.
- Explain to students that the card has four lines on it. We are going to write
“Merry Christmas, Love, ______” You can copy my letters off the board, just
write your name instead of mine!
- Wait for students to complete writing the message. Once they are done writing
they will be instructed to cut out along the black solid line on the outside of the 35
card. Please wait patiently for your classmates once you are done.
- Once they are finished cutting, they can fold along the black dotted line. Show
students on exemplar lining up the pieces and folding slowly. If you need help,
raise your hand.
- Once this is complete they can paint white glue along the very top of the fold.
Stick Santa’s hat onto the glue. Once this is complete raise your hand for a
teacher to come find and help you. The teacher will help you glue on the eyes
and nose.
- Next students will paint on glue along the bottom and hat line using their
brushes. Next they need to fluff the cotton balls and stick them down onto the
glue making Santa’s beard and hair.
