Describe (D):
My lesson was about letter j, the goal was to read the letter and what is the sound of it, write the letter
in both case.
During the introduction I was testing their previous knowledge by showing song of sound and
introducing the letter, after that In the active engagement I showed them different picture starts
with letter j and some are not. students identify which pictures starts with the letter j, so they must
read and pronounce the word.
During my formative assessment student knows their strength from my explanation the outcome, I
noticed that from their engagement and their interaction to my teaching.
active engagement, according to Piaget theory; students revisit the same topic multiple times
throughout their school career. In my opinion I support this theory because it works better with kg
students which they are learning better by repeating.
I asked the students about pictures of letter j and then I asked them to write the letter in capital
and lower case so they can get to know the letter and be familiar with it, they were good on
writing and they know the difference between the sound of the letter and how does it should be
written. After that, I showed them story includes the many words has the letter “J” and I asked
the student to remember the words and I implement the outcome on retell the story or the
events of the tale.
Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
The students were great in acquires new information, and they were able to answer my
questions affectively because they were familiar with the letter.
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
They have been taught the outcome before, so they were familiar with the lesson and some of
were new in learning the difference between the sound and the letter.
Appraise (A):
Yes, they were awesome and flexible, and they were happy, exiting in doing the tasks.
Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
I might use different activity strategies and add some games with the parents if possible so they
can be in their kids teaching zone.
First of all is checking my computer and microphone because I had a lot of issues during online
classes, so for the next time I will do my best to not struggle with it. The second thing is making
differentiation activities, it is totally different activities we can find for online classes, and I would
like to incorporate some art and other ways to be implemented in my lesson.
