General Functions of Senior High School Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff


S.Y. 2017-2018

SHS Principal
 Sets the direction and strategy for the school;
 Spearheads the formulation and implementation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and Annual Improvement Plan (AIP) towards the
continuous improvement of the school;
 Manages the fiscal and asset resources of the school, including the efficient and transparent use of the school MOOE (Maintenance and Other
Operating Expenses);
 Facilitates organizational efficiency and the effective management of the people systems of the school, including the designation of tasks,
coaching, mentoring and instructional supervision of school staff;
 Implements and monitors the Results-Based Performance Management System (RPMS) of the school and its staff;
 Monitors and assesses the school curriculum and its implementation, including the approval of teacher assignments, loading, and class
programs;
 Makes recommendations to the Schools Division Office (SDO) regarding the program offerings of the school;
 Creates an environment that is child-friendly, safe, and conducive to the teaching-learning process;
 Leads in the creation and implementation of standards for teacher and student behavior, as well as disciplinary systems within the school;
 Implements and monitors the use and updating of the Learner Information System (LIS) and Enhanced Basic Education Information System
(EBEIS);
 Encourages the shared governance of the school through constant collaboration with the School Governing Council (SGC), Parent-Teacher
Association (PTA), and other internal stakeholders of the school;
 Leads in the collaboration of the school with external partners, stakeholders and the Local Government Unit (LGU);
 Is accountable for the learning outcomes of the school;
 Acts as representative of the school to internal and external stakeholders; and
 Reports to the Schools Division Superintendent.

Administrative Assistant
 Provides administrative and clerical support to the SHS Principal;
 May also be designated as property custodian or to the canteen services of the school, as deemed necessary; and
 Reports to the SHS Principal for Operations and Learner Support.
Senior High School Registrar
 Receives, updates and maintains the records, reports and documents of the school, its staff and learners;
 Manages and updates the Learner Information System (LIS);
 Ensures an efficient process of registration and enrollment;
 Facilitates the process of releasing records of the school, staff and learners to the necessary institutions; and
 Reports to the SHS Principal for Operations and Learner Support.

ICT/LIS Coordinator
 Coordinates and helps Senior High School Registrar in receiving, managing and updating of records of Learner Information System (LIS); and
 Reports to the SHS Principal for Operations and Learner Support.

Senior High School Coordinator


 Supports the Principal or School Head in the instructional supervision and implementation of all academic and learner support programs of the
school;
 Creates and implements the strategy towards the continuous improvement of the school’s learning outcomes together with the Academic
Head/SHS Subject Head; and
 Supports the Guidance Counselor/ Youth Formation Coordinator in implementing Guidance Services to learners;
 Ensures the implementation of programs initiated by the Work Immersion Coordinator in partnership with its external partners, stakeholders and
the LGU; and
 Reports to the Principal/School Head.

Academic Head/ SHS Subject Head


 Assumes leadership in the planning, preparation, and delivery of the instructional programs for the subjects;
 Provides professional assistance and coaching to teachers;
 Observes classes/teachers for effective and competent delivery of the curriculum;
 Coordinates with SHS Subject Teachers (Core/Applied Subjects) to ensure the holistic development of learners across all subjects through regular
LAC Session and deliberation of Student’s Academic performance;
 Consolidate reports done and prepared by SHS Subject Teachers (Students’ Grade, Form XIV, Remedial and Modular Results, etc.); and
 Reports to the Senior High School Coordinator and/or Principal/School Head.

Guidance Counselor/ Youth Formation Coordinator


 Provides and implements guidance and counseling services for the learners of the schools, which includes counseling, psychological testing,
learning and study orientation, research, and career guidance and advocacy;
 Supports and Guides the Guidance Adviser in implementing Psycho-Educational Program for learners;
 Coordinates with Guidance-Adviser to ensure the holistic development of learners through regular LAC Session and deliberation of Student’s
behavioral performance;
 Consolidate reports done and prepared by Guidance Adviser (Form 2, SARDO, Student’s Behavior, etc.); and
 Reports to the Senior High School Coordinator and/or Principal/School Head.

Linkage/ Work Immersion/


 Acts as a liaison between the school and its external partners, stakeholders and the LGU, together with the Principal or School Head and the
Senior High School Coordinator for the implementation of Learner’s programs like Brigada Eskwela, Partnership Program, Work Immersion
Program for Students, etc.;
 Coordinates with the Property Custodian as well as the Principal for Operations and Learner Support and/or Principal on the purchase,
maintenance and inventory of Technical-Vocational related equipment for the school;
 Consolidate reports done and prepared by Tech-Voc.Teacher; and
 Reports to the Senior High School Coordinator and/or Principal/School Head.

SHS Subject Teacher


 Responsible for the effective implementation of the curriculum inside the classroom;
 Monitors and assesses academic performance in his/her classes;
 Conducts Home visitation, Remedial/ Modular Sessions to challenged learners;
 Prepares Major Examination and submits the Grade Sheets, MPS, Form XIV, FoE, etc. to the Academic Head/ SHS Subject Head; and
 Reports to the Academic Head/ SHS Subject Head and Principal/School Head

Guidance-Adviser
 Responsible for the effective implementation of Psycho-Educational Program for learners inside the classroom;
 Monitors and assesses attendance and behavior of learners in his/her classes;
 Tasked to participate in the implementation of career guidance and advocacy activities, as well as other Learner Support services;
 Prepares and submits the Form 2, SARDO, Student’s Behavior, etc.; and
 Reports to the Guidance Counselor/ Youth Formation Coordinator Head and Principal/School Head.

Technical-Vocational Teacher
 Responsible for the effective implementation of the curriculum inside the classroom;
 Monitors and assesses academic performance in his/her classes;
 Helps the Work Immersion Coordinator in looking external partners and host industry;
 Tasked to participate in the implementation of Work Immersion Program; and
 Reports to the Work Immersion Coordinator and Principal/School Head.
