INVESTIGATION STATUS :
A QUALITY ACTION HAS BEEN INITIATED TO VISUALLY INSPECT FUEL PUMP HARNESS ON ALL A330 AND
A340 PRODUCTION AIRCRAFT AND SPECIFIC PRECAUTIONS ARE NOW REQUIRED DURING FAIRING
INSTALLATION.

AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN LAUNCHED TO REVIEW THE FAIRING INSTALLATION AND TO IDENTIFY AN
EFFECTIVE SOLUTION TO AVOID DAMAGE OF THE WIRING DURING BOTH INITIAL INSTALLATION ON
PRODUCTION LINE AND DURING MAINTENANCE / TROUBLE SHOOTING.

INTERIM SOLUTION :
N/A

MAINTENANCE ADVICE :
REMOVAL OF THE AFTER PART OF THE FUEL PUMP FAIRING IS NORMALLY NOT NECESSARY DURING FUEL
PUMP REMOVAL / INSTALLATION.
NEVERTHELESS, IN CASE OF AFTER FUEL PUMP FAIRING REMOVAL FOR ANY REASON, IT IS RECOMMENDED
TO MAKE SURE THAT THE FUEL PUMP WIRING IS CORRECTLY ROUTED WHEN THE AFTER FAIRING IS
REINSTALLED. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE WIRE HARNESS AND POSSIBLE SYSTEM MALFUNCTION.
