Labisma Annex of Danipas National High School joined with Labisma

Elementary School conducted the yearly program of the Department of Education

called Brigada Eskwela last May 20-25, 2013. This is to ensure that the school is
set for the upcoming opening of classes for the School Year 2013-2014.

Thus, the teacher in-charge of the school, Mr. Reniones D. Catubigan

together with his supportive teachers geared up with series of activities for the
6-Day Preparation. This is to make the said activity momentous on the part of each
pillar of the institution.

During the first day, there was a short opening program conducted to
formally start the activity at the same time to let each participant be informed on
the purpose and objectives of the said activity. The program was participated by
the ever zealous Barangay Captain of Labisma Hon. Eladio L. Climaco Jr. and his
active councilmen and also with the supportive parents and students. After the
program was the grass cutting activity. On the second day, the group of Surseco
personnel visited the school and inspected the wirings and connections especially
the lighting of each classroom. This is to make sure that all the wirings are well
connected and functioned. During the third day, that was the schedule for cleaning
the classrooms. The class adviser led the activity with the parents and students.
They wiped the windows, ceiling and wall. The students applied floor wax then
later on scrub the floor. The teachers also structured well their classroom to make
the classroom conducive for learning. The fourth and fifth day was scheduled in
repairing of chairs, tables, cabinets and what not. The parents and students helped
during this activity. They also brought equipment for repair. And on the last day,
closing program was conducted. Mrs. Aileen V. Fernandez, the officer in-charge
led the program. The highlight of the program was the distribution of the certificate
of recognition to the stakeholders and participants of the activity to recognize their
shared time, effort, talents/skills and treasure.

With the unity of each pillar of institution and thru the value of camaraderie
of each participant the Brigada Eskwela 2013 at Labisma was accomplished and
successfully done.

Summer vacation is the moment to get in touch with our love ones
especially with our family. It’s the time also for us to take a break thru going away
in other beautiful places. But since I am a teacher I must be geared up always
especially when there are seminars/trainings to be attended. They said teaching
profession is a 24/7 job. Then, I should take this into account.

Last May 15-20, 2013, I was attending a Mass Training of Grade 8 Filipino
Teachers of the K-12 Basic Education Program and the Bislig City Division
teachers was assigned to stay at Villa Teresing Resort, Karaos, San Francisco,
Agusan del Sur. And during May 21-26, 2013, I was also attending a Mass
Training of Grade 8 Mathematics Teachers of the K-12 Basic Education Program
and the Bislig City Division teachers was assigned to stay at Mabe’s Savory Place,
San Francisco, Agusan del Sur. During the training we discussed the content of
Filipino and Mathematics grade 8. I participated well also in all the activities done
because I know that I will learn more thru cooperative and experiential learning.
Thru these trainings it helped me a lot to be equipped for this coming school year
2013-2014.

Last May 27-31, 2013, I spent my time at my plantilla school Mangagoy

National High School (MNHS). I rendered my services there thru cleaning the
ground always by picking-up the dried leaves and trashes and extended my helped
to the one of the advisers of the third year level in cleaning her classroom wherein
that classroom was a stocked room before. I also painted the walls of the classroom
and it took 2 days to finish painting the classroom. With the 5 – Day staying at
MNHS I felt secured, comfortable and happy in that school because I knew most of
the teachers there and they knew me too. On the other hand, I felt partly frustrated
because I will be detailed at Tumanan National High School (TNHS) but I just take
it positively because I do believe that everything has a reason.

With those experiences that I had during the summer vacation it was really a
big credit on me as a newly hired Secondary School Teacher I. Though it was very
tired and hustled on my part but I learned a lot from it. And I should say, “This
summer vacation 2013 is really a momentous and prolific vacation!”
