Dear Sir,
We are pleased to inform you that it is an honor for us to inform you that Red Crescent Youth is the
largest and oldest volunteer youth humanitarian organization in Bangladesh established by the
President order No 26 of 1973 as an auxiliary to the government having more than 1 lakh 60 thousand
active Youth members in 64 districts and 4 units at present. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society
Chattogram District and City Unit along with Red Crescent Youth Chattogram have organized several
humanitarian activities. We have award people so that they can aware of maintaining physical
distance, wearing mask, washing hand after all they can maintain all the health safety measures. We
have disinfected heavy populated areas, hospitals, rail station and various populated areas. We have
also distributed ready food, dry food and fruits to workless people, police, orphanage and needy
people. Along with these activities we have also distributed hand sanitizers and masks
Being the pioneer humanitarian organization, we are the responder in every natural disaster happened
in Bangladesh. It’s my immense pleasure to inform you that, like every time this year we are going to
organize a health camp for flu patients at pandemic situation when doctors do not practice at their
chamber under Red Crescent Chattogram. Around 6000 poor needy people from Chattogram and all
over the society will take service in the camp. We will use your Bank`s name and logo in our
publications.

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society at a Glance
The Bangladesh Red Cross Society was constituted on 31 March 1973 by the country’s President
Order No.26 with retrospective effect from 16th December 1971. The Society was recognized by the
RCRC on 20 September 1973 at the 20th International Conference in Tehran and admitted to the
International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies on 02 November 1973. The name
and emblem were changed from Red Cross to Red Crescent on 4th April 1988 with Act 25 of 1988
and the Society became the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS). However, to comply the
current law and Statutes of BDRCS with the minimum standards of the Red Cross Red Crescent
Model Law and the Guidance for NS Statutes, BDRCS has been working with the Government of
Bangladesh since long. In 2014, there was an initiative in bringing the Legal Base issues to the Prime
Minister of Government of Bangladesh , the Speaker of the Parliament, the Ministers of Ministry of
Health and Family Welfare, Foreign Affairs, Commerce, the Chief Whip, and the State Minister or
Finance. After this initiative as well as subsequent follow-up in 2015 and 2016, BDRCS is optimistic
to have their new legal base approved by 2017. The BDRCS has 68 Branches: 1 branch constituted in
each of the 64 districts and 4 branches constituted in each of the metropolitan cities of Dhaka,
Chittagong, Rajshahi, and Khulna. The President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is the official
President of the Society and BDRCS is an auxiliary to the government of Bangladesh following the
Movement’s mandate has been operating through its 68 branches/ units across the country to reduce
the sufferings of the vulnerable people affected by diseases, both natural and human-induced and other
crises. In terms of service delivery the major areas where BDRCS focuses is on disaster emergency
relief, support in Rohingya Refugee Camp, response & recovery; Cyclone Preparedness Programme
(CPP); Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR); Community Development; Health
Services at the community level, Blood Services, Restoring Family Links, Youth & Volunteers
development, Training and Dissemination on use & misuse of RCRC emblems. However, with the
changing context of the humanitarian environment, BDRCS is continuing to adapt through its renewed
strategic drives. This new Strategic Plan is a reflection of the organization’s future vision to fulfill the
humanitarian needs.

Red Crescent Youth Chittagong at a Glance
“I serve” the main motto of Red Crescent Youth and to follow the seven guiding principles, Red
Crescent Youth, Chittagong is establishing with such a small part. Now it has 190 school, college and
maddrasa units. In our accomplishment bag, we have the experience of organizing 02 (Two) Unit
Camps (1994, 1996) and 06 (six) Divisional Camps (1998, 2003, 2005, 2010,2017,2019) and 5 (five)
Youth Conferences. Red Crescent Youth, Chittagong had elected as the best Branch of Bangladesh
for five times in 1986, 1989, 1992, 2001, 2003, 2016, & 2018 and a National Red Crescent Youth
Camp’2012. In 1991 Cyclone disaster; we were the only Voluntary Organization who worked with
U.S.A Task Force and in “Rohinga Refugee Camp”. During the Cyclone 1997, our youths
participated in life challenging rescuing of cyclone victims and after that, we successfully completed
the relief distribution and rehabilitation program. In 1998 & 2004 during the flood, Red Crescent
Youth, Chittagong also worked for the flood effected people of Bangladesh. Under the rural
community development Red Crescent Youth, Chittagong has a lot of experience to continue
Community Based Disaster Preparedness Program (CBDP) in costal belt area. Red Crescent
Youth, Chittagong plays a vital role for International Friendship Exchanged Program. At present,
we are working in a project Service to Emergency Care (SEC), the project of Bangladesh Red
Crescent Society funded by International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC).
We have also a Blood Donors Forum whose prime duties are to provide safe blood for saving life and
inspire capable people with motivation to join in this noble movement and the slogan of this forum is
“Donate Blood Give a Chance”. And this year the worldwide slogan is “Together, We can help save
lives”
Red Crescent Youth, Chittagong first introduced safe Blood Movement in this region and we make the
future voluntary blood donor by operating motivation program among the school, college, local clubs
and offices.
To make the bright future for the youth commission and make them part of welfare and humanity our
effort will continue. We do build the world peaceful and we believe that

In a sense of Covid-19 Operation
COVID-19 has been a wakeup call for humanity. Now, more than ever, youth from diverse
backgrounds and regions need to collaborate and co-create solutions for the public good. Government
cannot solve the current crisis alone. Citizens have to play a major role in this pandemic situation.
Ongoing programs to prevent Covid-19 in Red Crescent, Chittagong:-
* Disinfectant-spray spraying activities in various crowded places (bus terminals, Sadarghat, different
markets), hospitals, different police boxes in Chittagong city and at various Sadar hospitals at the
upazila level
* Delivering food items to middle and lower middle class families with due respect, keeping their
identities secret as part of humanitarian assistance activities.
*Volunteers are delivering quality, home-made food to people who come out of the house for floating
and other necessary work.
* Covid-19 service providers, doctors and health workers, have always tried to stand by the duty
police with gifts and safety supplies.
*As part of the disinfection activities under the International Committee of the Red Cross and the
Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Covid 19 has been cooperating in the Chittagong Central Jail to
spray disinfectants, wash hands, and install footbaths.
* Relief materials are being delivered to the beneficiaries honestly in the dark of night under the relief
management of Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram
.

* Volunteers have prepared their own sanitizers and distributed them free of cost to service providers,
hospitals, religious places of worship, and the general public.

Overview of Flu Corner & Investigation Cell
This Corner provides an overview of the standard health protocols for the camps to operate. Keep in
mind that this is the bare minimum and we expect many operators will be taking extra measures to
ensure safety.
This is a pandemic position; the goal is to provide a safe, effective, proficient quality medical care to
those attending the over Month Camp.
Responsibilities
• Implement Protocol of Health Screening designated by CDC and Local Health Department
• Temperature checks and health screenings for
• Maintain Medical Records and Documentation
• Monitor patient for side effects and effectiveness
• Notify families in the case of medical questions or emergencies
• Document all care rendered in camp health record log
• Maintain safe and clean work area by complying with health and safety guidelines
