ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee in 2020.
Being the pioneer engineering discipline of VNIT Nagpur, Department of Civil Engineering is
organizing Three days international conference to embark the start of Diamond Jubilee Celebration.
The theme of the conference is Advances in Civil Engineering, In Association with Department of
Applied Mechanics. The keynote talks, technical sessions, and panel discussions are oriented
towards holistic contributions of Civil Engineering towards the society, industry and mankind. The
conference aims to create a forum to present and exchange new ideas by researchers and
developers from India and abroad working in the frontier domains of Civil Engineering. VNIT Nagpur
is hosting ACE-2020 during November 5,6,7 -2020. Researchers from Academia, R&D Labs and
Industry from India and abroad are invited to submit original research manuscripts for ACE-2020
and be the part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration of VNIT Nagpur. Attractive prizes will be given to
top 3 papers.
ABOUT VNIT
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur is one of the thirty National Institutes of
Technology in the country. The Govt. of India conferred on the Institute, the Deemed to be
University status (under University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956)) with effect from 26th
June 2002. Subsequently, the Central Govt. by Act of Parliament (National Institutes of Technology
Act, 2007 (29 of 2007)) declared VNIT Nagpur as an Institute of National Importance along with all
other NITs. The Act was brought into force from 15th August 2007. Earlier, the Institute was known
as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE). It was established in the year 1960 under
the scheme sponsored by Govt. of India and Govt. of Maharashtra. The college was started in June
1960 by amalgamating the State Govt. Engineering College functioning at Nagpur since July 1956. In
the meeting held in October 1962, the Governing Board of the College resolved to name it after the
eminent engineer, planner, and statesman of the country Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The institute offers
B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics &
Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Metallurgical & Materials Engineering and Mining Engineering. It also offers B. Arch in Architecture.
The institute offers M.Tech in 17 specialisations in engineering and M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics. The institute also offers PhDs in All Engineering, Applied Sciences and Humanities
department.
ABOUT CIVIL DEPARTMENT

Department of Civil Engineering is the oldest department in this institute right from the
establishment of Government College of Engineering in Nagpur 1956. The department offers the
undergraduate course of B.Tech in Civil Engineering and five postgraduate courses, M.Tech in
Construction Technology and Management, Environmental Engineering, Water Resource
Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering. Also, M.Tech in Structural
Engineering and Structural Dynamics are offered by Department of Applied Mechanics. The faculty
member are engaged in research in multiple discipline of Civil Engineering. All types of design
consultancies and third party quality audits are carried out by faculty member as per demand from
industries. Presently, 400 students are studying in B.Tech Civil Engineering, 200 students are
studying in post graduate courses and 50 students are pursuing their PhD research in the
department.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
Authors need to follow the format for preparation of the manuscript strictly. You can download MS
Word Template, Latex Template, and Sample Paper for your reference from the conference
website. The submission of the manuscript is through OCS Online Manuscript Submission and
Review System. The submitted manuscripts will be double blind peer-reviewed and scrutinized for
plagiarism as a mandatory requirement for publication. The papers accepted after peer review will
be published as a standalone in Scopus Indexed proceeding.
