    Invitation to participate in the 7th International French Spell Bee 2019

    Le Frehindi, Paris, is pleased to announce the 7th edition of the prestigious Inter-School International
    Concours d’Orthographe 2019 (International French Spell Bee 2019), an event which is open to all
    students learning French at schools in India and any other non- Francophone countries.

    Last year, we saw 150 schools from 5 countries vie for the top honours and taking away the beautiful
    ‘International Spell Bee Trophy’. The competition was spread over 3 rounds of intensive assessment of
    their French proficiency. The event was widely covered in the media and drew support from top officials
    from French & Belgian embassies in India.

    Through this letter, I would like to invite your prestigious school to participate in the International French
    Spell Bee 2019 and offer your French learners a rare opportunity to distinguish themselves while bringing
    more laurels to the school.

    Here’s a brief information on the 7th edition of the International French Spell Bee.

    Important Dates
    1. Registrations: Both Online and Offline options are available for participating schools.

    Registrations will be open from May 1, 2019 and close on 16th August, 2019.

    Tie Breaker round (if required after Round II) will be conducted between 18th November 2019 – 2nd
    December 2019.
    Registration fee
    ● Per student fee of INR 350 for India-based schools for round 1 participation.
    ● All round 2 shortlisted students will pay a fee of INR 350.
    ● No fee is payable by the Finalists who will have to travel (on their own expenses) for the Live
    round in New Delhi.
    ● Non-India schools will remit USD 7/ EURO 5 per student for each round and make their own
    arrangements for Travel & Stay for the Final Live round.
    ● Payments can be made by Cheque/DD/Electronic Transfers in the name of “FREHINDI EDUCATION
    PVT. LTD.” payable in New Delhi for Indian schools; and “LE FREHINDI” payable at Paris for schools
    outside India.

    Who can participate


    Each year, the Spell Bee is conducted for 3 levels of French Learners and students are expected to compete
    in their specific category.
    Basic : Students of Grade 4, 5 & 6
    Intermediate : Students of Grade 7 & 8
    Advanced : Students of Grade 9 & above
    Each student can participate in only 1 level / category.

    Syllabus
    While there is no specific syllabus for the Spell Bee, we highly recommend all participating students to go
    through our special “Word Bank guide”, which will offer a standardized basis of evaluation at all the three
    levels. The Word Bank Guide will be made available to all participating students for Free along with the
    registration.

    Certificates and Prizes


    One of the unique aspects of our Spell Bee championships is that while we recognize and reward individuals
    who are talented, we believe that the schools and their teachers are equally responsible for developing and
    supporting the love for an International language.

    At the Live Finals

    For SCHOOLS
    International French Spell Bee Trophy – 2019 for the Winning Schools

    For each level, the top school will win the prestigious “International French Spell Bee School-2019” Trophy.

    For STUDENTS

    ❏ 3 Winners : All expenses paid Trip to France (June-July 2020)

    ❏ 3 First Runners Up : All expenses paid Trip to Auroville, Pondicherry (March 2020)
    ❏ 3 Second Runners Up: All expenses paid Trip to Frehindi Village, Uttarakhand (May 2020)
    For TEACHERS

    ❏ The respective French teachers of the Winners, First Runners Up and Second Runners Up will also

    receive an all-expenses paid trip similar to their student winners.

    ❏ Teachers will also be awarded with the “Meilleur Professeur” certificate along with a Gold medal by
    the Chief Guests at the Finals ceremony.

    Zonal Rounds
    ❏ All zonal toppers will receive Gold medals who are invited for the final round.

    ❏ All zonal qualifiers will receive the “Champion d’Orthographe” badge.

    ❏ All the teachers whose students participate in the 2nd round of the contest will be awarded with

    the “Prix d’Excellence” certificates.

    School Rounds
    ❏ All the participants will receive certificates indicating their qualifying rounds.

    ❏ All School toppers securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions will be given special prizes.

    As you would have noticed, this could be a great opportunity for your School, French teachers and Students
    to showcase their skills, get recognized and travel to see a different country, a country within a city and
    true Himalayan village experience.
