    We are committed to responsible recycling of our end-of-life products and urge you to join our
    cohesive e-waste movement.

    HMD Mobile India Private Limited has joined a tech-enabled, environmentally beneficial and
    socially responsible e-waste Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) Karo Sambhav for
    making recycling a way of life.

    What is "E-Waste"?

    Any discarded electronic appliances such as mobile phones, computers, laptops, printers, fax
    machines or even their parts, which have reached the end of their useful life are called "E-
    Waste".

    Where and how can you recycle your e-waste?

    To recycle your waste electronic items, all you have to do is drop an email
    at [email protected] with details of each type of Waste Electrical or Electronic device
    and your city. You will receive a reply within 48 hours of your email with further details.

    You can also visit our collection points directly to drop off the e-waste and get more information
    on the subject. You can also call our toll-free number 1800 2121 434.

    Going beyond just recycling


    At HMD Mobile India Private Limited, we believe that our focus should not only be on responsible
    recycling, but also on generating livelihood for people involved in the e-waste management
    chain.

    Our PRO Karo Sambhav has set-up a range of channels for collection of e-waste:

    Waste Picker and Waste Aggregator Programme Waste pickers and waste aggregators are a
    very important link in the chain of e-waste management. They are currently marginalised and do
    not have a consistent and legal source of income. The programmes are designed to provide
    them a sustainable livelihood by bringing them into the formal sector and giving them a legal
    identity as a link in the producer take-back channel.

    Our PRO is also working on creating awareness around responsible recycling through various
    programmes:

    School Programme This Programme has been designed to create awareness on critical
    environmental issues including waste from electronics, engaging students on preventive
    environmental strategies like circular economy, and inspiring them to take actions in their daily
    lives. The programme is designed to create an environmental movement in schools with teachers
    playing a leading role.

    Important dos and don’ts

     Make sure that all your important personal and professional data you wish to keep is
    backed-up and removed from your device.
     Don’t forget to remove your SIM and memory cards before dropping your phone into a
    collection point. Batteries and chargers and other accessories can also be recycled at
    these points.
     Do not mix these products in your home dust-bins with other municipal waste.
