ENGLISH GRADE 9 (July 2, 2019)

I. Objectives:

at the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:


a. Use appropriate punctuation marks and capitalization to convey meaning.
b. Recognize punctuation marks and capitalization.
c. Appreciate the importance of punctuation marks and capitalization to convey meaning.

II. Subject Matter: Using Appropriate Punctuation Marks and Capitalization to Convey Meaning.

III. Procedures:

A.) Motivation
The teacher presents a paragraph without punctuations and lets the students read it. The teacher
then asks the students what they observed upon reading. The teacher presents appropriate
punctuations and capitalization.

B.) Lesson Proper

 The teacher presents appropriate punctuations and capitalization.


 The teacher introduces and discusses how to use appropriate punctuations and capitalization.
 The teacher presents sentences with appropriate punctuations and capitalization.
 The students give sentences applying appropriate punctuations and capitalization to convey
meaning.

C.) Application
The students will be divided into two groups. Each group will supply the appropriate punctuations and
capitalization on statements that will be provided by the teacher. The group with more points will be
the winner.

D.) Generalization
– Discussing and appreciating the importance of punctuation marks and capitalization to convey
meaning

IV. Evaluation
Using Appropriate Punctuation Marks and Capitalization to Convey Meaning

The students will be given a 15-item test on punctuations and capitalizations.

V. Assignment

The students will write an essay with any topic of their choice using appropriate punctuation marks
and capitalization.
