Competency: Use vocabulary referring to people, animals, objects, musical instruments, and
environment. (MT1VCD-Ia-i-1.1)

I. Objectives:
Within the 45-minute teaching-learning activities, the pupils will be able to:
a. Classify things into living or non-living things;
b. Share effectively of their favorite thing through oral explanation; and
c. Observe the classroom surroundings.

II. Content:
Subject Matter: Things (Mga Butang)
Materials: Video, PowerPoint presentation, worksheets

b. Introduction

i. Motivation
 The teacher will present a video entitled “Ako si Takuri” to the class.

Ako si Takuri, gamay ug dako


Kini ang kuptanan
Ug kini ang ipisan
Kung mubukal, mukulo-kulo
Punita ako ug ibubo

 The teacher will connect some words in the song to the topic.
o Guide Questions
1. What is the thing mentioned in the song?
2. What is the purpose of the thing mentioned in the song?
3. What are other things that you can see around the classroom?
4. What are the purpose of these things?
5. What makes these things different from our previous topic?
c. Interaction
The teacher will present the PowerPoint presentation as she discuss the topic.
The teacher will give present the qualities of an object and its examples.

The teacher will call a few pupils to give an example of living things and non-living
things.

Activity #1
The teacher will post pictures on the board.
 The pupils will answer if the picture is a living or a non-living thing.

Activity #2
 The teacher will group the pupils in to three groups.
 The group will prepare a whole sheet of paper.

Directions: In 2 minutes, list down as non-living things as many as you can. After two minutes,
the first group will read the words that they wrote. When a word is present in other group’s list,
cross out the word. No point for both groups if this happens. The next group will do the same.
The highest score will be the winner.
d. Integration
 The teacher will ask the pupils of their favorite thing whether it is a living or a
non-living thing and how they take care of it.

IV. Evaluation
 The teacher will let the pupils answer the answer sheet.
Cross out the picture that does not belong
to the group

V. Assignment
 In a short bondpaper, cut out at least 3 pictures of a non-living things and 3
pictures of a living things. Label and paste them in your short bondpaper.
