1. CONTEXT
You have already completed steps 1 to 3 of the Blue Ocean Strategy. Now you will take up step 4 of applying
the Four Actions Framework.
With the help of the Four Actions Framework, you need to plot your strategy to see how you are going to be
different from the competition. The four actions- Reduce, Eliminate, Create, and Raise are explained below:
1. Reduce refers to benefits that can be reduced well below industry standards.

2. Eliminate refers to those benefits that the industry takes for granted and can be eliminated.
3. Create refers to those benefits that can be created but the industry has never offered before.
4. Raise refers to those benefits that can be raised well above the industry standards.

1. Use this worksheet to list the relevant actions related to your business idea in the respective boxes.
2. Remember, it is not necessary that all the four actions will apply to your business idea; focus only on
those actions which make sense in your context – your product/service and your customer segment.
3. Revisit your Strategy Canvas and plot the blue line for your business idea.
