Construction Materials and Concrete Technology
Construction Materials and Concrete Technology
Construction Materials and Concrete Technology
Course Objective: The main objective of the course is to understand the properties, intended
use and a pplications of various materials used in the field of construction along with the tests,
standards of the materials and understand the technology in manufacturing of concrete a
pplication of different types of concrete and mix proportioning for different projects
Course Rationale: The Purpose of learning this course is to introduce engineering
specifications and properties of construction materials like Cement, Steel, bricks, stones, lime,
timber, coarse aggregates, fine aggregates and concrete etc., to correlate and formulate a set of
specifications of materials as per the project specific material requirements. To conduct various
tests and performance studies on engineering materials in regard of their engineering properties,
durability and environmental aspects to arrive at the engineering specifications and properties of
materials to study their suitability in a project specific scenarios.
