I. Objectives
K: Identify the things found in the surroundings.
S: Classify the object as living and non-living things.
A: Learn to appreciate the contribution of plants in making the surrounding green and
beautiful.
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1) Opening prayer
3) Drill:
Teacher will show a picture: Ask the pupils
What does the picture show?
Rearrange the words.

4) Review:
Ask: What are the different school surroundings you had visited?
Can you tell in the class what have you observed?
5) Motivation:
Ask the pupils to look around inside the room and outside the room.
What do you see? Can you give me one?
B. Developmental Activities
Presentation
I have here a picture of things that we can see in our surroundings. (Show a picture)
Can you name them? Baby, chick, plant
These things that can grow, move, reproduce, and have life
Are called LIVING THINGS.
The things that need food, water, and air are called?
Living things
Very good
Can you sight some living and non- things found in the picture?
Bamboo sticks, pots. Etc.
Okay, very good,
Say:
“GOD created our world beautiful, complete, and it’s a very nice place to live in.
We should take good care of plants because it supports us in our daily living.
Ask:
As a person, what can you do to take good care of the plants in our surroundings?

C. Application
Individual practice
Teacher will give pictures in every pupils.
Have each student come in front and paste pictures into its correct category either living or non-
living thing.
Continue until all student has had a chance.
Group Activity
The class will be divided into 3 groups.
Teacher will give a task to each group.
Each group should have a leader and a secretary.
Everyone should prepare for a report after the activity.
Rules:
Participate actively in the given activity.
Stay with your group.
Share your ideas to the group
Write it neatly and correctly.
Remember to always minimize your voice.
Group III:
Name the following as Living thing or Non-living thing.

Plants need to be cared for and conserved so they can grow well.
