The teacher will show a banderita in the class and ask the following questions:
1. What do you think is this I am holding?
2. Can you describe the banderita?
3. Where can we usually see a banderita?
C. Lesson Proper
Guide Questions:
1. How do we define festivals?
2. Are you familiar with the festivals written on the board?
3. Where do you think these festivals originated?
b. Analysis
Guide Questions:
1. Why do you think festivals are celebrated?
2. Are these festivals celebrated in honor of a religious figure? Or jus for a specific
industry?
c. Abstraction
This time, the teacher will discuss the two classifications of festivals: religious
festivals and secular/non-religious festivals.
Guide Questions:
1. Why is there a need for festivals? Festival dances?
2. How do you think can festival dances help you in enhancing your fitness?
d. Application / Evaluation
Answer briefly and substantially in a ¼ sheet of paper:
1. What is the importance of celebrating festivals in the Philippines?

The teacher will ask the students with the question:
1. What value do festival dances develop in community fitness?
IV. ASSIGNMENT
The class will be divided into three groups (Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) and let them
research on the festivals celebrated in that island group. The paper must contain the
following:
a. name of the festival
b. its history and why it is celebrated
c. practices they do during the festival
d. attire of the townsfolk and décor of their place
e. food that they serve during the festival
f. other products and practices
g. economic gains of the festival for the townspeople
h. participants in the festival
